I don't think she does much teaching. I read recently that buying a $4 computer mouse would have put her in some financial dire straits.

Yes. In real life, her attitude would make her a very poor human being. Hopefully (for her sake), she's not like this outside of the anonymity of the internet.

What peers are you talking about? The parrot who posts tiresome "odem" comments? The uninformed man who pretends to be a retired attorney but who demonstrates a complete inability to reason? The a2k Polonius who tiresomely drones on and on and on and on in run-on sentences?

Or the intelligent people at the liquor store, barely able to keep body and soul together? Or my colleagues at the college where 80% of the faculty are adjuncts?

BTW, your comment and maporsche's demonstrated more than a slight lack of sophistication. Do some research to learn how little adjuncts are paid.

Finally, I have biases? Sure, I hate the following: narrow-minded people, anti-environmentalists, racists, defenders of what they think is capitalism but which is not.

I have never criticized first. Any criticism is in response to an insult. Besides, the right is a threat to everyone's well being.

Not that I think it's a constructive topic for the thread, but I think you've got Map scored wrong POM. While I think he's damn hard to please and perhaps he tends to see more negative things than good things, he's not a monster or an unkind person. I don't think your summary of him is fair.

An interesting, self-contradictory response that aptly reflects both the paranoia of the writer who sees danger in any disagreement with her many prejudices, and her blindness to her own persistent incivility.

The political right in this country is no threat to my being. What makes you so vulnerable ?

Many thanks ART; you nailed me on the hard to please part (or at least having high expectations). I probably post more on the negative side of things, but that's not because I'm a negative person (I'm truly not). I just see more value in posting about 'problems' that I think need fixing than I do posting about things I'm happy about or in agreement with

I've now taken steps to solve this disagreement and will try not to derail this thread any further.

Yes, most all on the left do evidence severe psychological illnesses as well as rampant anti-social behavior.

Primary evidence of this is their propensity to verbally, and fanatically personally attacki those on the right rather than verbally attack what those on the right claim.

Too many leftists appear unable or unwilling to defend their own claims about what those with whom they disagree claim.

I guess that those on the left do not have access to, or understand, evidence that supports their claims.
