Lou is hiding somewhere. He's managed to make it up and down the stairs, and even refused the bowl of water we put out for him and instead managed to drink out of the toilet, which he prefers (not an easy maneuver for a cat). So he must be a little better. Thanks for asking.

Lol! If the little bugger is going out of his way to find his preferred brew to drink (retch!) one hopes he is feeling chipper.

Has he been to the vet?

Not yet. He is putting weight on it. He needs booster shots anyway so maybe it's a good time to go. He's such a barn tom. Can't keep him in the house for long or he goes nuts.

I haven't really been following this thread. I hope all of your pets are doing well, or better, if that's the case.

cjhsa, Glad that Lou seems to be doing better.

Deb, Glad to hear that Miranda is eating and purring and not limping. BTW, didn't you have a cheese on your head yesterday? Or am I hallucinating?

You're hallucinating.

I never wear anything on my head except ears.

Thanks for clearing that up for me, Deb. I'd rather be hallucinating than think that our bunny would put something silly on her head.

Well - I am glad we've cleared that up.

Ain't it wunnerful the way Roberta and I have the same hallucinations! Must be a cat people thingy?!

Deb - I hope Miranda improves. A cat-free household is a sad thing indeed.

CJ... good luck with Louis.

I've been thinking of Miranda, Deb. (& you, of course, too!)
I hope she's picked up a bit by now. It's awful when you don't know quite what you'll find when you return home from work. You have my sympathy. That's tough. I guess we'll just have to wait & see what her vet makes of her condition tomorrow. Good luck, Deb. I hate those vet visits, too. Sad

Sending Miranda some virtual pilchards. She deserves lots more treats! She's special! Very Happy

The thing is Sallydog (we've had for 2 years +) has always slept in her little bed until Dante moved in with us. Now Dante likes to sleep on our bed and that is an open invitation for Sallydog to join in all the fun of being on our bed. But, both Dante and Sallydog don't sleep on our bed, the sleep on me.

I got up at 2 a.m. to take a wiz. I am still up because there is no room for me to get back in bed.

What about Sally's bed?

The lady Diane has it occupied.

Oh phew, Deb!

That's terrific! Very Happy

Are you still off to see the vet tomorrow or don't you think it's necessary now?

So who won the chatty meow contest? My money's on Miranda!

Given that I am giving her already the only meds they offered me last time, I am inclined to say no, unless she deteriorates overnight.

When I made the appt., I was pretty sure it was gonna be for euthanasing her, or, if not, for getting veterinary help with that decision making process.

At the moment, that decision isn't needing to be made. She is happy, eating and moving about well, despite the effects of her illness.

I will enjoy this while it lasts.

She ALWAYS wins the meow contest!

She has such a wonderfully husky little voice! She is very beguiling with it.

Boring us? Get real, Deb. I'm with you every painful inch of the way. My Miranda was a long time in going. I know how it feels when you open the door and wonder whether you'll find a body or a living feline.

I know you want to be strong and expect it of yourself. But there's only so strong a person has to be. Cut yourself some slack.

And please don't hesitate to post here. Or send me a PM or an e-mail if you want to talk about this and worry about being boring. I'm NOT BORED. My heart is breaking for you.

seconded

Coming up soon!

She's outside at the moment, sitting on the decking with her fur blowing about. Yay! Cool change is here! Happy cat! Very Happy
