I want Miranda to be well--because I want her to be well, and because I don't want you to worry.

Now I also want her to be well because that place looks mahvelous. And you, Ms. Deb, are in need of a vacation. You desoive a vacation!

He looks remarkably like you!

I noticed that, too, Deb.

Uncanny resemblance!

Almost identical personalities, too! Very Happy

No worse.....

I have arranged for a pet carer to come in and look after her...if she is well enough for me to go.

This means that, if she becomes ill while I am gone, she will be taken to the vet etc, which a neighbour would not do...but she is also not stressed by having to go a boarding place.

Waiting and watching.

Deb I hope Miranda is OK - what a view! that's really somewhere to spend Christmas - here it's forecast to be cold and a bit icy Crying or Very sad

Dante is utterly beautiful and so is that pic of Possum - how about one of mspoppy?

Rosie supervised the putting up of the Christmas tree etc yesterday - no broken baubles so far ....

I feel lazy today and there's still loads to do

Just watch it, you pair!Twisted Evil

I'm nowhere near as cute as Possum! Personality - well - can't discount that - he's taught me all he knows!

Thanks for all the comments, catpeople! (and Osso!)

I'll be in Melbourne next month, with camera. If no pics of Poppy appear before then, I'll be forced to take matters into my own hands!

Good going, Deb! Now you'll be able to enjoy your holiday without feeling anxious about your precious puss. Glad to hear she's doing well & that there have been no further worrying signs. Very Happy

Is that a threat, Ms Sydney?

Hmmm?

So you want to reveal to all & sundry here that Ms Poppy has short, stumpy legs?

Is that your plan, then?

Here you can't see that Possum is really built like me.......

Deb - Fingers crossed that Miranda improves, so you can get a break!

I received the following from a dear friend:

"Certificate of Adoption. This certifies that a Defenders of Wildlife wolf adoption has been given to Roberta Mylastname in memory of Mikey Mylastname to help protect imperiled wildlife and to preserve its vital habitats. On behalf of all of us at Defenders of Wildlife, please know how much we appreciate support for these special wild animals who so desperately need our protection. Signed by Rodger Schlickeisen, president."

Uh oh, I'm gonna start blubbering again. What a thoughtful, caring, and sensitive thing to do. I love the idea that a wolf is out there somewhere maybe a little better off because of this. (Wolves are my second favorite nondomestic animal.)

The certificate arrived with a very cute little fuzzy wolf in "howl posture." I put him in a place of honor next to a gorgeous parrot given to me by an a2ker. If anything happens to that parrot, I'll know whom to blame!

That is great.

Blubbering, also, is great. (when it makes sense)

Miranda is ok........still a bit wobbly and wambly, but happy and purry as ever.

Thing is, I expect this is the start of the fast, or slow, slide for her.

I think I will go away, as planned, except I will go a day later. This gives me a chance to make sure she is stable.....and also lets me go to a great party on Saturday night!

It also cuts how long I am away, but I am soooo exhausted, that a slower preparation time and such makes me feel way more relaxed.

I also really like driving by myself for quite long distances....it is always fantastic mulling time for me.

Good thinking, Deb!

All the important things covered.

"Thing is, I expect this is the start of the fast, or slow, slide for her.":

That's sad, when you can clearly see that. Whatever the pace of the slide, I hope it's the least painful for Miranda. You never know, she may be hardier than you think. She sounds a very sweet & loyal cat. And she's lucky because she has a caring & responsible owner. She trusts you, no doubt.

Enjoy your party & enjoy the ride to Robe.
I love the solitude of a long trip, too. Very useful thinking time for busy people!

Deb, Glad to hear that Miranda seems stable. You never know with cats whether slides will be long or short. Mikey and Patty went fast. My Miranda took her time. She lasted far longer than I imagined she would, and she seemed comfortable and content. I was grateful for the extra time.

Your change in plans seems like a good idea. You get to go to a good party, you give yourself extra time to get ready (always the ookiest part of travel for me, if you don't count the actual travel part), and you'll be able to see how Miranda is doing. I want very much for you to have a restful, relaxing, and fun vacation. Mucho, mucho, kid.

What made me blubber and continues to get me all weepy is Mikey's name (first and last) on such an official looking document. Why this has such a potent effect, I don't know. I have no qualms or sentimentality about getting rid of some things. Others, I won't touch. Maybe it's that some things create a physical reminder of him that others don't. He used to knead on a pillow every night after he had some milk. I can't move that pillow. Won't let anyone sit there on the loveseat. The dent in the pillow is such a reminder of his physical presence. His last knead. I'll move the pillow eventually. But not yet.

Msolga, not the first time I've heard rumors to the effect that you're vertically challenged. Nothing wrong with that. I've shrunk three inches! Maybe now we're the same height.

Margo, love the new avatar. That is one cutie pie.

Aw, Roberta.

The kneading pillow. Now you've got me blubbering!

Pardon me interrupting the feline discussion, but ....

I feel the need to clear up a terrible misconception immediately. I have been wronged!

No, I am not 4 ft 2 inches tall! (the mere suggestion! Evil or Very Mad )

In fact, I am fully 5 ft 3 & 1/2 inches tall! When standing.

5ft 3 1/2 inches is considered very impressive in my family. Why, compared to my mother & sister, I am an Amazon! I'm almost as tall as
my father was! My family is in awe of my height!

So, let me make this clear to certain people here: I refuse to be slandered one second longer!

Hurrrumph! Evil or Very Mad

<walking away in dignified fashion.>

OK, you may continue now ......

Very Happy
