I need to get one first... :-(

I went through a serious "oh my god how can I live without a cat??!" phase about 2 weeks ago, I don't really know why.

Soz - I often wonder if I could manage - I was quite lost when my previous cat died.

However - here's my chance to find out. The very next time that Possum decides that he needs to get out and kill that marauding cat about 2am, and races into the bedroom screaming, I'm going to package him up and send him to you. That way - you can have your cat, and I can get back to sleep!

Now - what was your address again!

Heh heh...win/win!!!

I have no idea if I'm doing this quote thing right, but I had to comment. Msolga, based on your description of a cat, Mikey must be some other species. Am I harboring a tamandua in feline clothing? Quien sabe.

I will eventually find out what it's like to be catless. When the monster cat is gone, there will be no others. Big, gigantic sigh.

Lol. They are also stubborn, wilful, bloody minded, evil, tricksical and odd.

Which contributes greatly to their charm!

Mikey is a pod.

I was introduced to Dante yesterday. It was a little difficult because Diane had to scoop him up with a ladle from on top of the kitchen cabinets.

Cool cat, though.

The 10 minute trip to the vet leaves us both shattered - he screams all the way there in the car, and howls piteously when we're waiting there. When the vet is handling him, he's as good as gold, and then he whimpers all the way home (mostly because he's lost his voice from screaming!). We get home - he runs and hides, and I hit the bottle!

No, I'm sure he'd love a bit of a trip! Confused

Oh dear!

Margo you are going to have use the services of one of those visiting (your home!) vets!

Has he now come out of hiding & have you stopped drinking?

My cat was watching a fly crawling on the curtain earlier today and was doing a strange miaow thing with a trembly bottom jaw. It was well funny.

Hiya Dorothy Parker. What you describe is serious stuff. Deep-down instinct working it's way up to the surface after a life of domesticity. Don't be surprised if your feline starts stalking and hunting that fly.

I watched this play out with my sweet Patty (many years ago). She actually caught a giant horsefly in her mouth. I heard it buzzing around in there. She was stunned. She opened her mouth, and the fly flew out. She watched it for a second, recaught it, and chomped down. Yum.

Ah Deb, Bob told me about Oscar, as I haven't been posting for a week or so.

Your post was so beautiful, full of detail of the kind that made Oscar a very real, special cat. My heart goes out to you and Miranda.
