No, this loves to live in the water, while a cat hates to be soaked.

I agree, definitely not a cat, satt! Very Happy

... But satt sent this photograph to the "cat photo" thread:

http://static.flickr.com/13/90456463_46a630320d.jpg

I'm posting it here as it'll give you some idea of what my Poppy looks like. Not quite as chunky & a less white on the face & body (more black tuxedo & less white shirt, etc), but definitely from the same family! That look is very familiar to me! Laughing

No, it's the one that Region Philbis posted.
But I can see how your Poppy looks like.

Whoops. Sorry satt, sorry Region! My mistake.

But yes, that's her style, alright. And definitely her fixed, wicked stare! Laughing

(Hooray! Email updates are back!Very Happy )

There's a conflict of interest in my household at the moment between the (1) human & the (1) feline resident. The minute that I turn the (duct)heating on, Poppy bolts outside. She hates it! The trouble is, the nights are getting very chilly here. So far I've compromised by turning it off well before I bring her inside, but I've spent a few evenings with purple nose & purple fingers! Last night I was dressed appropriately for the ski slopes! Laughing I think I'm going to find a way to slowly get her used to the idea of household heating, otherwise I might be spending my evenings at home in a sleeping bag! I guess this situation could help reduce my rather large heating bills of last winter, but ...... Rolling Eyes

msolga, she'll get used to the new sounds.

Have you tried an electric blanket? I absolutely love mine, they're so nice to slip in to:)

Hi Misti! Very Happy

No, I can't cope with electric blankets, certainly can't sleep with them on. I don't know why that is. They make me feel like I'm sleeping in a toaster! Laughing

I hope she does get used to the sounds, Misti ... Soon!

Greetings to Mr Paddy! Very Happy

His Highness is sleeping beside my chair, I will relay your message as soon as he comes too!

I use the electric blanket just to heat the bed, then turn it off after I get in, so I understand you not being able to sleep with it on, I wouldn't want to take the chance either.

I must post some new pics of Stanley ... I forgot Rae sent me some the other night.

I've had a problem with double vision this past week, a really scary thing which affected my driving abilities, had to have my sister chauffeur me around. I had an MRI of the brain, Carotid Doppler study, two visits with the opthamalogist. It turns out the problem is a "microvascular cranial nerve palsy", one of the most common causes of acute double vision. The nerves are not permanently injured, and over a period of six to 12 weeks, normal function should recover.

Have you ever tried driving with one eye, then switch to the other eye? Try it, it's no fun:) So, I'm staying off the road for now.

Off to get some pics of Stan ..............

Why do I have this sneaking feeling that you & Rae are going to kidnap the gorgeous Stanley one of these days, Rae?

my thoughts precisely msolga! he's adorable

so sorry to hear about the vision problems misti, it must be horrible but such a relief that it's not a major problem

Rosie, is turning into a little pig! as far as chicken is concerned anyway. She doesn't want cat food. She never ever used to ask for food but has taken to trotting hopefully after us when we go into the kitchen and looking plaintive.

The weather is cold and rainy at the moment so Paddy is in sleeping - he's as light as a feather compared with squishy well-padded Rosie, He scoffs heartily when he eats but isn't bothered about coming in to eat if the weather is nice and sometimes misses meals entirely.

Thank you ladies, I do appreciate your kind thoughts. Yes, I'm very grateful it's not more serious.

Paddy sounds like a typical male Viv., don't yah think?

Beautiful photos.

I come on my knees pleading you nice ladies to help me. Razz I have two cats: one nine and the other 2. The young girl has lately taken to peeing and pooping on my shoes.
She is litterbox trained and I have never had problems with her doing this before. I've had her..ohh, close to year now I'd guess.
Earlier she would pee and poop in my plant pots that I had on the floor. Only the ones where I was growing little plants or seedlings. So I started putting the 'little guys' in big tubs with a big plant in it. She leaves those alone, and my big plants.

I'm really not sure why she has taken to this behavior suddenly. She's an indoor cat. She is still using the litter box, and only pees/poops on my shoes. None about the apartment that I have found.

Any ideas on why she is doing this and how I can solve the problem?

thanks.

Potty problems are really frustrating.

Perhaps you have to take what is left of your shoe collection and LOCK them away in a closet. Don't leave any shoes laying around ever again because baby is using them in an unpleasant manner. Take a soiled shoe that you would otherwise throw away and semi-bury it in one end of her litter box. That should "invite" baby back to her litter box. In a few days, throw the incentive shoe away.

Take a soiled shoe and beat the crap out the cat with it.
