@msolga,
Well, some good news on Miranda!!!

She began coughing again last week, and, when I took her in, the vet sent her blood off to see how her kidneys were doing.

To our immense surprise, they were actually BETTER.....results within normal range!!

She's going back in on Thursday (Oz time) to have her lungs looked at again...well, listened to....and that day is, as it happens, her fifteenth birthday.

I have to say, she still looks like a young cat.

If you really know, you can tell she's had strokes, but you really have to look.

And, however long she has to go, she is the HAPPIEST little cat you ever saw.

I can never get a real sense of her breathing, because, whenever she sees me, she is talking, or at least purring. Her tail is so high it is often almost curled over her head when she walks around.

She adores to sleep on me and be cuddled.

Talking to her and stroking her makes her positively babble with joy.

She purrs in a soprano trill and sometimes almost chokes herself with the enthusiasm with which she does so.

Happy Birthday for Thursday Miranda!!!

I am so glad I spent all that money. The slice of happy life she has had since has made it worth it.

@dlowan,

Very Happy

That's very good news, Deb, considering things were touch & go, not so long ago!
Clever girl, Miranda & happy 15th birthday!

Took this photo just today after work.

Hubby "doesn't like" cats, so of course the cats swarm all over him as soon as he arrives home.

Hubby says, "Sorry, I can't get up, I'm chained to the chair by a cat!"

Hubby also claims that if he moves his leg, Boris will sneak over and snuggle on his leg, then purr loudly.

@msolga,
Aw, thanks, sweetie!

Boris is a Russian Blue, thus accounting for his grey fur and his silly "Russian" name!

Policeman VS Kitten:

Some folks have big problems with the latter portion of this video (not shown here), when the policeman shoos the kitten away with his foot. Clearly the kitten was unharmed, and even I, a devoted animal lover, did not have a problem with his treatment of this very-persistent kitty!

@dlowan,
Ohhh, that's such wonderful news! Lots of pets to Miranda from us.

And love that very friendly kitty climbing all over the policeman (who was quite patient in that section).

@BorisKitten,
That cop's a hero!!!

Thanks for the kind words, Soz.

The irony is, after saying that about the money in my post, I am not sure I can pay today's vet bill!

How can I work so much, and the bills beat me every time!

@BorisKitten,
Do you suppose the cop's dry cleaner is just a front for an illegal cat nip grow op?

I really enjoyed that, BK! The things some people have to put up with while trying to just do their job!
I think that's the friendliest cat I've ever seen! Laughing

@msolga,
TeeHee, I adore this video, and could watch it 100 times over and still laugh, esp when joyful love-kitty gets on his head!

If I pretend to be a NON-cat person, just doing my job, and put myself in his place, well, honestly, I kinda doubt I'd have his patience and tolerance.

Hmmm... do you think his wife/girlfriend is a cat-adorer like me? Or maybe he himself is?

The best part of this video is unreported here. This cop (from Taylor, Texas) ended his shift that day by reporting to his supervisor that, just possibly, people might be upset by his "kicking" this same kitten away, after these events.

Heck, what do you want to bet this cop has many marriage proposals (today) from female cat-lovers like me, that is, if he isn't married already?

There's also an interview on YouTube from the owner of this farm, an elderly gentleman whom I immediately liked. I mean, cripes, if his kittens are this friendly, how bad a guy could he be?

There is the possibility, of course, that dealing with the occupant of the car was very pressing business!

But, yes, that was one very kind, extremely obliging, policeman! Smile

@msolga,
As for the speeding-ticket occupant of the car, they said he/she offered to help with the kitten!

"No, thank you," the policeman said, something about he had the situation under control...

I love how the cop attempts to maintain a sense of Policeman Dignity while dealing with the kitten. Dang, that is SO cute!
