Hey! Nymphs don't want mortals to see their eyes.
Ahh but I am hebba,God of wood.
Well, you wanted mirror shades didn't you?
No.No I didn´t.I am sure however that you look just great in them.
Lots of love.
No? Well, thanks.
I suppose the God of Wood doesn't need to hide his eyes.
He wouldn´t dream of it faced with a little nymph in mirror shades.
A wise god knows proper protocol.
And is Hebba a Copenhagen God? I can't find him listed in my blue book.
"hebba" is in fact Icelandic.Has nothing to do with wood in all probability but I thought it sounded rather cool.
It´s just a name.
It is a great name. Icelandic -- Really? Did you see where Setanta found me an Icelandic flag? A place of interest to me and has a lovely flag.
I did see your flapping Icelandic flag Piffka but I think the Danish is better in it´s simplicity. And yes,it really IS an Icelandic name.
Knock, knock, knocking on Hebba's doooooooor.......
I was a little teensy disappointed with it, since the one I'd seen on a car showed the field as light blue. THAT's what I liked. If you can imagine that flag with a light blue background (think icy blue) and the red and white quartering. But sigh, it must have become sun-faded.
hebbaaaaaaaa must be missing an angel.
Piffka,it IS a lovely flag.
Much prettier in light blue. I wish I were adept at mixing up the images and I'd show you. The first time I saw light blue and red together was in photographs of John F. Kennedy's funeral. His wife had dressed both children in those colors. I've liked it ever since. The same gorgeous combination with turquoise and red coral is used by SW Indians (Hopi, Navajo, Apache),
But it IS navy blue. You´ll have to accept that because the Icelandics have for ages.
Reality rears its ugly head. Navy blue is fine, but you can imagine my disappointment when I saw it after believing it to be ice blue.
I wonder?? Does the Arctic have a flag?
One of my favorite things about the English is Windsor Castle and its wonderful habit of flying a pennant when the queen is present. I just love that. Anybody can see if she's in, or not.
I was about to give you hell for digressing but remembered which thread we´re in.I hope that the English have more to offer to humanity than the pennant showing that QEII is in residence.
Like what? That pennant is fabulous. What a great idea. As children we did a similar thing -- hanging a towel on our dock when we wanted to go skiing. But the pennant is even better. It's so....symbolic.
Yeppies - them pennants be symbolic all right.....of what I am a little unsure - but they sure are symbolic .....
