mans,

I don't think anyone should be discriminated against for their religious beliefs. I don't care what they are. I may not like them but it doesn't give me the right to belittle them for what they believe. Other people think differently, hey, what can ya do?

Now, there is a poster on A2K that is a self-professed Satanist. Now, I am a Christian so, of course, to me, what he embraces is exactly the opposite of what I embrace. However, I don't feel the need to belittle him for it. I may get a bit ticked at a snide remark he may make but as far as him being a Satanist? Hey, it's his choice. Christian is mine and Islam is other's just as Buddhists', etc. We're all people. We all have feelings. We all deserve at least the basic respect in life.

Oh, and I, in no way, have ever thought that Intrepid does not like Americans. I do think he takes issue with some of our politics, but hey, who the heck doesn't?

i know that would happen to me if i changed.

mans,

I hear ya! Your question of why we are like this? I have asked this question so many times! I have tried to get to the very crux of the question. What I have come to understand so far is that the problem starts when one person tells another person they are wrong for what they believe.

THAT seems to be why we are like this. There doesn't seem to be enough live and let live and, "hey, it that's what you believe, that's cool. Might not be what I believe, but that's life."

Happy? Laughing More often than not! Laughing

yeah.
but actually, statistics prove that our world is getting better, just that the news only shows the worser side - i hope that applies for religious difficulties, too!

Mans,

Hmmmm. I'm not sure I agree with our world is getting better. I wish it were true. I don't think it is. Actually, religious discrimination is a good indication that it is NOT getting better.

I don't know your age. I am 50. I remember a time when using God's name in vain was something even atheist's didn't do (very often at least). I remember a time when churches were full of families on Sunday morning and not empty as they are now. I remember a kindler, gentler nation. So much has changed. Too much I fear. Crying or Very sad

yeah, i know. sad, isn't it. when i was in junior school, everyone swore except me (f* word, etc.). Now i do too, (except for the C* word and F* word). but i most definitely don't use Gods name in vain. everyone is is like "OH my God", and i can't make myself say it. everyone is egging me on to say it, but i have to tell them i can't, and can't say Jesus either.

I agree. That opinion just needs to be informed of pertinent facts.

This is so much bullcrap. How about the many times you state that homosexuality is wrong--you can't live and let live there, you have to shove that down everyone's throat. The problem people here have is not with what you believe, it is with the way you foist it off onto others, the way you attempt to recruit, and then the way you lie about it.

Were you prepared to tell Mans about your string of lies in aid of your religious fantasies?
