good day today. Performance was full of energy and oh so much time. A crew member said he's friends were asking about me (who's that tapdancing girl? She looks like Brigitte Bardot. Musn't grumble about that, ay?)
But, also, R. has brought me a REAL flower today (he sent me a virtual bouquet earlier this week - an e-greeting) and I learnt that a suspected girlfriend is in fact just a friend. AND


drumroll.....





he's cooking dinner for me tomorrow and bringing it over to the club. That's because I was sick for two weeks and had a nasty stomach inferno, plus I confessed that I don't even remember when I last had real home cooked food (other than when F., our roommate, cooks for her Monday dinners with friends). Ha. So, tomorrow, I shall be having some chicken made on rum and spices with some special rice.... Aren't I a lucky girl.... AND he asked what I want for my birthday (coming up in two weeks).

Well, though, now that I got his full attention my own interest is in doubt...as these things usually go... but he's a nice guy and we'll just see what happens. Oh, I also learnt that he lives alone... <grin> nemmind.

And and and... another exciting thing. Nana wants to make a Gold Dust Orphans calender. Splendid idea! And I should have a page in it, with my bleached blond wig and a blood red lipsctick. There is also going to be a cast party next Sunday, which will most likely be absolutely wild. It's a good thing I work from home...

...oh so much fun is what I meant.

let me just say we did hold hands in the car that drove us home. He is sooo not a stalker. The chicken he made was delicious and massive in quantity - I got a big tupperware thingy to take home. Now I do have a friend visiting from NYC this weekend, so, needless to say, things with R. remained most civilized...but still on a clear good path I'd say.

I do have a dilemma. I am drawn to scumbags. Machos. Show-offs. He's not one. He's a Good Man. He brought me flowers and food and we're not even dating yet. I don't operate well in those circumstances. I do need assholes to show my best off. BUT. I believe I also am old enough to appreciate a Good Man... so I'm learning humbly. Taking it slowly in a geeky nerdy way. That is SO new to me. Exciting even. I'll see R. on Wednesday, there is a show with one of our guys playing a lead for a different show. We'll see where it goes when I have no friend in town. Did I mention he lives alone? [grin]

Theatre romances tut tut

Dag, sweetheart, not sure if you've worked another show before but you should know there is something funny that happens when you put a whole bunch of people together, make them all work as a team live each others failures put them under stress reward them with succese, kind of a mini "big brother" (do you have that tv show there?).

The bonding that happens and the feelings that go with all that can sometimes get all mixed up.

Now.... you're a big girl so I wont tell you what you should or shouldnt do so have fun, but keep a lid on it till the show finishes then see where things might go.

i'm sure you're right, dadpad. and it does happen. it's addictive to be there. i miss our nightly rehearsals (i never thought i'd say that!). it's a little greenhouse in there. i'm sure this 'romance' is not going anywhere fast, although i would be interested in him outside of our little group. eh. it's morning. i need coffee.

Oh, and guess what. Ryan is looking for roommates. He owns a house and rents out a few rooms. Wouldn't that have been fun? I heard it's an awesome house. But too late for us, plus it's probably far.

Gus, you have ALWAYS had a chance. Now where the bloody heck are you? I've been waiting here for months!

Hard to dump someone I haven't even started dating yet. Amigo darling, you can make me corndogs anytime you wish. You may have to fight Gus again though and we know how that ends - you'd spend 3 days at Shay's drinking...
