Of course, the speedometer was bouncing a three inch distance, but 185 was the highest it bounced, and that's my story and I'm stickin to it!!!!!

140 tops...A bouncing speedometer is not an accurate speedometer.

All speedometers bounce when you get that high.

My boyfriend loved to run his Z28, and it always bounced when we got over 150.

The speedometer in my Alfa is accurate until it pins at 120. ( It was manufactured during the Carter administration)

Jealous!!!! LOL!!! I'm sorry, but we had people screaming in the back seat and just because you were too chicken to push a car to the maximum, doesn't make me, Hot Rod Lashy, a liar.

We eventually totalled the Z28 in a freakish phone pole episode, wherein the phone pole stuck in the engine, and when we spun, it threw the phone pole into a split-rail fence and turned it into toothpicks.

It's ok that you like to putter about in your shiny sportscars, dys. No one is judging you....

He was there. Very busy deflecting oncoming traffic, the cops and squirrels.

Not my baby, but one similar. Mine is Verde Inglese, or British racing green.

Mine was silver, LTX, wonderful car. We had a Spider for awhile and then moved into a 164S. WHAT A CAR!!! Unfortunately Mr B trashed himself and totalled the Alfa one horrible Tuesday morning.

Lash, I'm old enough to remember when the police would follow behind you for 20 miles or so to see that you could handle the speed you were driving. If you could, they'd leave you alone. I once drove from Burlington, Vt to Brattleboro (157 highway miles) in 1:45. That was my best time, but under two hours was standard.

My first ragtop was a Sunbeam Alpine. It was just like this only British racing green.

I still have a 1976 Raleigh Supebe 3 speed in excellent condition. It is racing green. Not sure of the top speed. I do know that it is not 185 mph like Lash's Impala.

It was ahead of it's time with an automatic headlight and key locked front wheel.
