Thirst and fasting and burning bushes and magic mushrooms -- I do not question the absolute certitude and earnestness of the instrument. But the player of the instrument does not mean it to be taken literally. Hell, she only occasionally takes it out of its case and plays it, the rest of the time its notes are subject to the whim of aging strings, ambient vibrations, and the soft percussion of falling motes of dust.

Why, what happens? Have you actually tried this, or are you just relying on the incontrovertable word of Craven?
