@ehBeth,

then the rest of us shall wave warmly to him through the window as we revel, and partake of food and drink...

I'm not sure if it's good or bad that I believe you.

Does anyone want to meet earlier for a walk around Boston?

@Region Philbis,
He actually might like to stand in the "Stuart-sidewalk-beergarten" ...

Did such yesterday for some hours. (And we won't be at Thomas' before 6pm or so.)

we're leaving here @ 5, which should get us there by ~6:30 (assuming the T is running normally).
we could then walk around a bit...

What did I learn just now about Paul Revere's midnight ride?

"He who warned, uh, the … the British that they weren't gonna be takin' away our arms, uh, by ringin' those bells and, um, by makin' sure that as he's ridin' his horse through town to send those warnin' shots and bells that, uh, we were gonna be secure and we were gonna be free … and we were gonna be armed." (Sarah Palin in Olde Boston Towne)

Yesterday, three million students (it might have been one more or less Wink were told differently during their Boston Field Day...

@Walter Hinteler,
We did the Freedom Trail many decades ago, but it was a bit different from Palin's interpretation. LOL

@cicerone imposter,

Prof Neil Ferguson in a recent history tells that the American version (and not only the Palin version) of the circumstances leading up to the celebrated Tea Party are diametrically opposed to the truth.

The British aren't coming.

@McTag,
Interesting way to decline an invitation. Most would have just said "Regrets".

I am going to stay local tonight, can't get a sitter and I am horrible in Boston by myself. If some of you recall several years ago I got lost going to an A2K gathering.

Have fun and hope to see you all next time!!!

@Region Philbis,
Ooooh, nice to see the photo.
That picture reminds me of wherever it was we went to in north Chicago as a group -
Walter and Thomas will probably remember the name of the place before I do. I think Lion Tamer called the restaurant/pub and paid a large part of our bill or maybe it was all of it, talk about a terrific surprise.

Which reminds me further - I wonder how Mac11 is...

Thomas hasn't arrived until now at his b&b (keys still in the mailbox there).

We'll wait some time there (what the missus does just now while I'm in our b&b) and then leave a notice and drive to Bastin.

It was a nice evening of good food, good company and fine people-watching. Walter took pictures.....

I came home to flickering police lights and water utility trucks all around my neighborhood. A major water pipe broke and now we have no water. Apparently, much of Cambridge has no water. I have half a quart of seltzer in the fridge and might have to travel several towns away to find more tomorrow if the water isn't back on tomorrow.

@littlek,
That's a bummer. We lost our phone connection, and Comcast claims they know of the problem and working to fix it.
