Now - where the heck is Malden (I should know this one)? I see rt 60 AND the Fellsway and they don't jive. Is it near Waltham or Stoneham? I shall go google....

@littlek,
Oh. I'll be having a nice drive through the vortex that is North Somerville. Good thing I have it all figured out after 10 years (gulp).

@littlek,
For some reason, the Boston area seems to be scary to navigate. Back in June, when Jespah and RP led me from the Arboretum to the Border Cafe in Cambridge, they first drove to their home, and then from their home to Harvard Square. Evidently that was the only way on which they felt confident to reach their destination. And theirs isn't the only story like that. I'm appreciating the Cartesian design of Manhattan more and more.

@Thomas,
In part this is because we've only lived in Boston for 14 years.

Malden = Tobin Bay Bridge, then head northwards.

@littlek,
There's Rt 60 exit off I93. You can follow 60 right into Malden center.

The sign will say:
Exit 32
60
Medford Sq
Malden

@George,

i forgot about your reunion.
you will be missed...

Tom from Pearl street sent us directions last night, and also said we do not need a reservation...

93 north out of Boston
take the Medford Sq./Malden exit Rt. 60 east.
bear right at the bottom of the exit. That is Rt. 60 east.
Follow about ½ a mile into Malden up to your 4th set of lights.
That is Highland Ave.
Take a left and go up to your next set of lights, Maple St.
Take a right and follow to the end.
Pearl Street is on Summer St. just to the right.

There is parking on both sides of the building
and also free parking in the bottom of the
parking garage at the intersection of Maple and Summer St.

Thanks for chasing down the directions, RP.

What's this about a predicted high of 67 tomorrow? I'm having trouble wrapping my head around that. 80 on Saturday & Sunday is fine (that's our low these days) but 67? Whoa.

Fun night out in Malden! Turns out I had been there - or at least THROUGH there.

We have comments and questions as well as photos. Will get around to discussing manana.

Good to meet Mac!

@margo,
Am meeting mac @ the airport -- she has a few hrs to kill, and so do I -- pics are d/l'd from camera, to be posted later.

It was a rollicking time.

One important question RP and I forgot to ask everyone:

what's an onion belt?

we had a blast!

an excellent location for a gathering, i thought.
not too crowded for a saturday night, so they weren't giving us the bum's rush.
it was quiet enough that we could all hear each other.
being a smallish group also helped in that regard...

we were there for over 3 hours, then continued the convo outside for another hour or so...

(pics have been downloaded, but not yet uploaded...)

@jespah,
Take your time, Jes. We can wait a few minutes. (Er, kidding)

For those who don't know Boston, like me -
here's a map link that I think is too big to put on a2k, but helpful to me. I have been to Malden, but I think it was when I was eight. Have a cousin who lives in Lynn. Mother was born in Watertown.. and all of those towns show up on this map.
