@mac11,
Mac11: I have a car. I can conveniently get to anywhere, as long as there's parking nearby-ish.

@Diest TKO,
Diest: there is no formal schedule for gatherings in Boston -- or anywhere else for that matter. Usually, people get together, more or less spontaneously, whenever someone from out of town is visiting. (Like Mac11 next weekend, or Shewolf the week after that in New York.) I would guess there could be anywhere between two and five gatherings in Boston in any given year.

@Thomas,
I guess I was unaware that the Boston folk were numerous enough. I'll keep that in mind for when I eventually visit up there.

Oh, and we'll have to try again to meet in NY next time I'm running around in that urban jungle.

@Diest TKO,
I have a theory, Deist, about why there could be so many folks from the Boston area on A2K (hence the number of "gatherings"). A2K sprouted in 2002 with a bunch of folks coming in from a site called Abuzz, which was run by the Boston Globe. It was a rough and tumble place where civility towards other posters was considered a sign of weakness. The NY Times bought the Globe and killed Abuzz.
There is an A2K gathering in Austin over Labor Day weekend, by the way.

@realjohnboy,
Thanks for the background. I knew about Abuzz, but not that it was tied to the Boston Globe.

Pearl St. Station sounds good, but is it easy for everyone to get to?

It's a short walk from the Malden Center T stop.

(Looking at their main menu, I'm thinking grilled shrimp caesar salad, but wondering what turkey tips might be...)

I can't wait to see you guys!
ok, then... we have a place!

@Region Philbis,
That building looks like a church. Perhaps there will be a spiritual element to this gathering.

@jespah,
It's an old railroad station.
There used to be a restaurant there called the Summerside.

Great, we have a place! How about a time?

I'll be coming from a 1:30 (Catholic) wedding followed by a reception which is half a mile from the restaurant. (Definitely not going back to the hotel, since I'll be so close.) 6? 6:30? 7?

Ok, let's say 6. I'd rather have more time with y'all anyway.

Any other takers for this gathering?
