The Chandler Inn would be an interesting choice. It's a two-minute walk from where I am. I can see part of it from my front windows.
The Chandler Inn, in its present incarnation, is primarily a gay men's residency hotel. I didn't even know they sold transient accommodations. It has a history. Back in the day it was called The Hotel Diplomat and was probably the best-known whorehouse in all of Boston. It's where any cabbie would take you if you asked to be 'fixed up.' ) At some point in the 1980s it changed hands and clientele. The hotel has a charming-looking cocktail lounge called Fritz's. I have never ever seen a woman enter this bar.
