Damn it, I think I am coming. I was in the middle of booking my plane ticket, getting beyond the point where they asked for my credit card number, when we got a thunderstorm and the power flickered for a bit. Grr.

I was unclear as to whether or not my plane reservation went through, but I see today that it did. Arrive in Boston around 2 pm on June 6th. Can't stay long. Flying back on the 7th at 6 pm. So I will only be around for dinner on the 6th and breakfast and lunch on the 7th.

This just in -- Just got off the phone with Hawaii. There's an excellent possibility that Seaglass will also be in Boston on the 6th to attend the Harvard commencement on the 7th. (Her godson is graduating.) So tentatively add one more to the reservations list, Jes.

Is someone planning on wearing a conspicuous hat for us to home in on this time?

You takling about the red A2K hat? Mine is in such pitiful shape. When were they given out? Mine has been run over by my truck (not when I was wearing it) and left out in the rain (not when I was wearing it).
Homeless people come up to me (when I am wearing it) and give me change.

Since I'm actually only one (full) day in Boston ...
Well, at first I'd thought to book a guided tour on a bicycle. The photo tour seems to be a bit expensive, but just a bike sounded good ... until I noticed that I hardly can take my full photo equipment with me.

So, a bus tour. What about Boston Tours? (No, I'm NOT keen on Duck Tours!!!)

Or should I better stroll on my own (especially, since I certainly will have seen quite a bit of Cambridge before we'll meet).

Walter, the duck tour can be fun but it's too structured, i.e. it just follows one set route. The Boston Tours buses is a better bet. You buy a ticket for the day. The bus, too, follows a set route, but you can get off at any of their stops (and they stop at all the interesting places -- museums, historic sites etc.) explore on foot as long as you like and get right on the next bus that comes along with the same ticket. Very flexible schedule.

I dunno how conspicuous it is, but I'll be wearing a blue hat with this logo
on it (except the letters will be white and the background will be blue).
I'll be standing at the "Out of Town News" kiosk.
