I have a plugged ear. I don't think it's plugged from ick draining in my head. I think it's plugged from wax. I can hear everything inside my head and I am losing my mind! Eating is awful. Ugh. I can't take it!
I bought some ear cleaner stuff this morning and put it in, plugged my ear up with some wax and left it there for about 15 minutes. But nothing happened. Absolutly nothing.
So,
1 - Should I have left it in longer?
2 - Is it perhaps NOT wax but gunk from my sinuses?
3 - Now what?
I can't take this much longer. It's really bad. It's like that side of my head is under water.
Suggestions? Help? Advice? Anything?
Have you considered seeing the doctor?
I will if I can't home remedy this. It's only been going on for a few hours this bad.
Yesterday it felt a little weird but not like this.
I had to have my ear irrigated once before and it was in 1 word: unpleasant.
I use Qtips, which is baaaaaaad, I know. So my thoughts are I pushed a giant ball of wax into my canal and now it's lodged there.
Hi,Bella....
I'm doing as you say and
speaking to your
left ear.
I SAID, I'M
SPEAKING TO
YOUR LEFT EAR
BELLA!
I WOULD GO
AND SEE A DOC,
AS YOU MAY
HAVE SOME
SORT OF
INFECTION.
I SAID...YOU
SHOULD GO
AND SEE THE
DOC, LOVEY!
DID YOU
HEAR ME?
I can relate to what you're going through, Bella. I had the same thing a few years back, only it was in both ears. I finally went to the doctor because I was going insane.
Afterwards I stood in the parking lot of the doctor's office and raised my hands in the air in a celebatory fashion, much like Andy Dufrene did after his successful escape from Shawshank.
One thing that works quite well to clear the ear are ear candles. They actually draw the fluids from your ear.
I woke up one morning years ago with the entire left side of my face gone numb and freaked out. It was beyond novacaine. I went to the doctor and he yanked a huge plug of wax out of my ear. It took two seconds and problem solved. You should go do it.
I was surprised by the reading on
this site.
I thought the candles were extremely effective and experienced no side effects.
Yeah, candling can be dangerous.
Home wax removers sometimes take a few tries, and also you have to follow up somehow usually -- flush out your ear with water, or something. Just putting it there usually doesn't do anything except soften it up/ make it easier to get out.
Do you have any other symptoms besides hearing loss?
Could still easily be a middle ear infection, especially if you have had some kind of a cold.
It's definitely worth having it looked at by the doc.
Gus, my hubby LOVES ear candles because they are warm and soothing. We've never had any ill effects either.
you should try nose candles then when you're stuffy.
a visit to an otorhinolaryngologist should fix the problem, whatever it is. if you don't like irrigation, there's alternatives, so check first with the doc before you make an appointment.

Nope. Just muffled hearing on that side. No pain. It feels like it's full but it isn't painful or itchy or anything.
I just got over a cold and do have sinus problems so there is a chance it is gunk from my head.
Dammit all.
and if you ever get constipated don't forget the "butt taper" Available in several different lengths and girths.

At least I have one good ear.
Oooo gross, I just burped and it popped. Yucky. I have some pressure in there.
Can you tell me which ear wax remover you're using?
Could still be that you just missed a step.
Popped sounds ear-infection-ish, too.

Physicians Choice Ear Drops
Walgreens.
OK, so did you do step#3?
Quote:
For most effective removal of ear wax, follow these three steps.
1. Put Ear Wax Removal Drops in Ear
2. Seal ear with earplugs for 10-15 minutes
3. Use rubber syringe to flush ear with warm water
