If we were unable to stop the invasion of Washington DC by the crminals currently residing in the White House how do you expect us to stop this?

Is that the solution you propose now? Personally, no, i don't give a rat's ass about California. It is corporate America that keeps the borders a sieve--they profit from illegal immigration, and they fund the politicians who look the other way, and take no realistic steps to stem the tide. There is plenty of legislation to penalize those who employe illegal immigrants, and those who collude in the introduction of illegals into this country. Instead, the Shrub rushes off to kiss Vincente Fox's hind-end, and everybody (read, politiicans) mouths platitudes while doing jack to stop it.

I completely disagree with Bush on this issue.

Making it a crime for churches to help the poor is a bad idea.

I kinda thought so. You and i have managed to remain at least marginally civil to one another--for my part, that stems from not only the usually (but not not always) restrained tenor of your demeanor, but also from occasional bursts of common sense on your part. But don't let it go to your head, i'm still layin' for ya . . .

It looks very much like the rally posters that radical socialists post around Cambridge MA (where I live). Except for the content, the style is the same.

One of the problems with the liberal movement is that the extreme part of the movement gets emphasized... and unfortunatly they often help their opponents in this respect.

But this year something strange is happening. It is the conservatives that are adopting the losing strategy of the extreme left.

This socialist-style poster (talking of "invasion" no less) is just a symptom. Look at the rhetoric from the right.

- Supporting wiretapping of American citizens
- Supporting the use of torture.
- Wanting to arrest churches for feeding poor immigrants.

The conservatives are making it easy to show them as extremists.

One of the strangest things I've noticed since moving to Michigan is all the white people working at the carwash and doing yard work.

Where are all the Mexicans?

I'm pretty sure there isn't an excess of low-wage jobs in Michigan. They won't go if there aren't jobs for them there.

cjhsa... you must be mistaken. Those are jobs that Americans don't want. Why would good honest americans be doing such menial work?

I was at work and they were mowing the lawns outside and I mentioned that it was the first time in years I'd seen a white person doing yard work. The Michiganders looked at me like I was nuts.

But it's true, in California, when I would mow my lawn, the mexicans passing by on the street would stare at me like I was doing something wrong. I finally realized they thought I was providing a service, their service, instead of just a guy mowing his own lawn.

I'm shocked that a real outdoorsman type he man like you would be so sensitive take a joke bubba....

I assure you that parts of me are very, very sensitive.
