Anyone who discards or fails to recognize the value of a BS in Molecular Biology as you apparently have, would only be capable of saying , Eh-- Question

perc, old chum

We, those of us who disagree with you here, consider it within the realm of possibility that a group of men and ideas might assume the reins of power in America, men and ideas which are wrong enough such that their acts will be more destructive than constructive. Loyalty, in such an instance, would be a regretable stance.

Perc,
I, for one, would be interested in learning more about old fundamentalist groups and how and why they evolved and strengthened over time. Perhaps a separate forum devoted to just those issues would be appropriate.

I also think it impossible to draw all the terrorists into one location because they are all over the world, witness Indonesia and the Philippines, to name but a few.

Some of us are here to discuss, others to bludgeon. Discussion involves a willingnes to see various sides of an issue. Bludgeoning invoves attacking others personalities, education, "patriotism," etc... when they disagree with you. Not interested in hand to hand combat today, Percy.

Blatham , old friend

Disagreement is the fuel that drives civil discourse ----- I have found CIVIL
discourse in very short supply on this thread and I'm certain you will agree with that observation.

It is a pity when one is forced to simply ignore or occasionally defend oneself from vitriolic verbal abuse that seems to abound on this thread----I am fully up to the task and all I can say is "Bring it on".

My "loyalty" is carefully considered and I stand by it because whether you want to admit it or not ----we are winning the war on terrorism as of this moment.
Bin Laden very much wants to make another spectacular statement in America but I firmly believe we have disrupted their activities by capturing their top leaders. A good example was the capture of a large group of suspected terrorists just recently in your country which I was very happy to see. The gigantic anti-American sentiment in Canada led me to believe that all forms of cooperation had ceased.

I continue to be optimistic about our chances for survival against the scum of the world.

While I have been absent from this discussion from time to time, I find most of the discourse to be civil. When it is not, it rather jumps out at you in contrast.

Since my posts and feelings about these topics are rather mild and tentative, I draw no fire from one side or the other. Fortunately.

Your suggestion about a seperate thread for a few facts about Wahhabism is well taken but I happen to believe it is very relevant to this particular thread because of the rabid denial about terrorism existing in Iraq. I think a few well chosen excerpts from "Hatred's Kingdom" would be very appropriate. They will be short because I don't have a scanner so I must re-type any references and I'm lazy.

It would be wishful thinking if we could lure all the bastards to one location but a high percentage will suffice for now.

prrecy - did you really mean this?

"Did anyone stop to analyse how to best corral a high percentage of terrorists in one location----like drawing roaches into a trap. But first we must make them think we are really in trouble and on the ropes.

I believe you all will be surprised how rapidly we can double the size of the force in Iraq to close the trap.

Why not fight them in one location instead of all over the world? "

You really must present this strategy to our military planners. It will probably garner lots of medals and awards for you. It indicates such a clear study and rational understanding of terrorism reasons, groupings, and activities all over the world that I;m surprised you don't sit right up there among the highest councils. Certainly your well-thought out strategies would shorten world conflicts swiftly and absolutely.

Incidentally, comments on civil discourse and vitriolic verbal abuse rather belie your snide statemtnt of a B.S, in Molecular Biology. Perhaps you owe a bit of an apology to tthe person who introduced you to and educated you in your latest buzz word - Wahabism?

Hobity bobity? Now there's an adult approach.

Wahhabism appeared on the radar screen shortly after 9/11 but as far as I know "Hatred's Kingdom" is the first book to lay it all out. I gave Hobit a chance to tell us about Wahhabism but as I suspected he gave it the broad bush treatment-----look it up several pages back. He either didn't know or didn't want to reveal it's significance. As far as I'm concerned Hobitbobs motives are not fully evident----all I've heard is some flimsy evidence of a supposed fabulous education(which is not yet complete) and a lot whinning about his treatment during 22 years in some sort of vague military experience. Why on earth would someone stay 22 years if it was so bad? Me apologize to him------I think not.

Maybe you should surround a few facts before you start shooting from the hip.
