And, I won't accept any narratives from Dems.com, MoveOn, and all the other partisan conspiracy theorist rags.

There. I guess we've all declared.

Tartarin,
I hadn't known you thought 911 was a fake. That was new information to me.

General mini-rant/explanation--
Fox isn't a primary source for me, either. Not because of their political leanings, but to be perfectly honest, their shabby reporting and corroberation (that can't be a word) of sources. When you're new, you have to build trust in your viewership. I can't tell you how many headlines thay have retracted. The factory explosion in NC or somewhere--they got on the phone with some yokel and repeated his nutty guesses about how many had died on the air. I almost called them and told them that was unacceptable.

I miss real journalism. But, FOX isn't the only one screwing up.

Tartarin,

I am no newbie but I would also liek to know if you think 9/11 was fake. That would be a very relevant distinction to me.

No I do not know if you think that 9/11 was staged. I was hoping you did.

On a scale of staged 1 and not staged 10 where would YOU put it?

I have absolutely no idea, and will not engage in this any further.

Fair enough, I no longer need an answer to that.

Craven -- I think badgering has become a really bad habit on A2K. There's no need for it. People tend to state their opinions in context, where their beliefs have some color and weight and meaning. Privacy -- and letting others express themselves as they will -- is really important, in my view.

Tartarin,

I asked a simple question. You are calling it badgering because you didn't want to say your answer.

I accept that you leave your answer to a form of 'agnosticism' about whther 9/11 was real or staged. No badgering. It's just something I'd want to know. I consider it relevant as 9/11 is the basis of lots of reasoning these days.

Huh??!!

(Aw gee, somewhere between squid and chocolate ice cream? A four maybe? Does that explain my political philosophy, give you a handle on my innermost thoughts? Ye gods, Craven!)

It does give me a handle on you. Outside of the internet I do not know anything about you. What we say is the only handle most of us have on each other.

Tartarin, I asked you replied. I was just curious.

The only real handles I have, Craven, are "love handles" and I'm working to get rid of them.

Goats have handlebars. When I was a kid I wanted to put a saddle on one.

I used to make bows and arrows out of everything I saw too. It's not disturbing, horses were just too big.

The goats we had were just thr right size, they'd scare off the other kids... so I plotted my goat cavarly while cursing the fact that elastic and a hanger made a weak bow.

Let's star Craven in a new production of Equus. On second thought -- not.

Whether one wants to believe that 9/11 could have been staged (a secret more difficult to keep than a minor burglary at the Watergate Hotel -- can one even imagine the amounts of the hush money?) or that it was a case of terminal stupidity where everyone involved have to share the stupidity is really a dilemma. Now isn't it?

LW, I think you're on the right track; it's someplace between not enough evidence yet, money, terminal stupidity, and a dilemma.

Ok, I've grown up.

It's documented that foreign intelligence services had an inkling an attack was impendent; are any of you conspiracy-sceptics seriously contemplating even for a moment that the American intelligence community did not?

Actually, the democratization of a rather substantial portion of real estate, smack dab in the middle of the most turbulent, violent area in the world may go down in history as one of the most significant achievements in the last fifty years--if we can pull it off. Not everyone had such short-sighted ambitions, whether they are judged right or wrong.

Sofia, that is the biggest bunch of codswallop that you have ever written. One laughs out loud at "democratization," (as if that could be donned like a coat,) and the sad laughter continues when you propose this fairy tale as "one of the most significant achievements in the last fifty years. " Those are the most arrogant words I have read in this thread. And you sound as if you are serious.

I cannot believe that you think the US colonized Iraq for any purpose other than our own selfish interests and to gain control of the Middle East.

You leave very few choices, no? I did not support the war but I'd fail your test as well.
