I'm not gonna fabulate on the technical elaboration of how it might have worked. But by now everyone knows the Bush club at the very least knew perfectly what was up. And let it pass through. Read some of the 9/11-threads before you pretend to be out of proof for that one.
That makes the Bush cabal eligible for the electric chair, by their own standards.
Watch out, they'll label you al Qaeda.
"The CIA orchestrated 9/11"
is likelya s truthful a statement as:
"The Aliens built the pyramids."
You mean it's quite probable?

If it makes you feel better.
So, Tartarin. You are among those who blame Bush for 911? Are you in the group that says he orchestrated the whole thing, or that he knew in advance and allowed it to happen?
". . . before you pretend to be out of proof on that one."
This sort of remark is typical of conspiracy theorists and religionists. If you make an extraordinary claim, the burden of proof is on you. No one is obliged to prove that you're wrong.
I don't think that kind of remark is typical of anything. It's just a sentence, you mummy.
You guys are so biased my screen gets dirty. I'm gonna take off for a while, leave you at your usual pedant levity.
Don't come back 'til ya grow up, 'k?
What's unfolding here is like Greek tragedy. Conspiracies abound - they're part of human nature. Many conspiracy stories are just that - but so many are real, and not disclosed until much later. Of course there was knowledge prior to 9/11, and maybe we should have had the foresight and the courage to look into what was there - but we didn't. And that lack of action set us on a course that has led to now.
What will bother me for a long time to come is how a group of people deliberately and for their own personal gain used their positions as heads of this country - my country - to lie, cheat, deceive, deliberately misrepresent facts, deliberately ignore the wishes of its citizenry, deliberately invade another country without ever bothering to learn anything at all about its customs, its culture, its language - all to further a small, private search for a modern Holy Grail.
Nothing matters anymore. Who cares about WMD, Saddam Hussein, Operation Free Iraq. It's all over. Ended. There is no glory, no victory, nothing that will go down in history as a great achievement.
Now the concern is how to extricate ourselves from this mess we've created, without having to blame ourselves. And that seems to be getting harder and harder.
Sofia - I have looked all over for anything about statements regarding security arrangement dismissals at the UN - and have found nothing, beyond Kofi Annan's tactful statement. If you chose to trust "fair and balanced," whose accuracy is always in the balance, that's fine. But do remember that moveon's reports gain increasing credibility.

Actually, the democratization of a rather substantial portion of real estate, smack dab in the middle of the most turbulent, violent area in the world may go down in history as one of the most significant achievements in the last fifty years--if we can pull it off. Not everyone had such short-sighted ambitions, whether they are judged right or wrong.

I hate to seem fickle. I disagreed
to the extreme with a couple of things you said--buit I didn't mean to seem like part of a posse. Don't stay gone long--just bring back a thicker skin!!
Those who see aliens ought not to let themselves be bothered by ridicule.
Edit that to say: those who assert the ridiculous....
Either/or -- I'm backing off from either/or questions. Wait and see, Sophia...
OK, Tartar, but when the time finally comes  , when I choose to sidestep a question, remember this one.
<why am I worried that she visualises Bush and Cheney, laughing maniacally, remote-controlling the planes...>
I'll add to the above: we are going around in circles here, reiterating old stuff. Let's move on. We each know pretty much where the other stands on 9/11 -- if a newbie comes in and asks my opinion I'll gladly give it. If someone comes forward with new information, that would be wonderful. But tangle and retangle with the same people over the same stuff? No. Also, as I've said elsewhere, I won't accept Fox "reports" as legitimate news.
And I accept nothing on any Fox channel - print or noise. Their policy seems to be mostly - shout louder. There are all kinds of news sources in this world - what we choose says a lot about us.
Call me an elitist, but Fox is mickey-mouse stuff, demeaning to those who quote from that source. C'mon guys, there are much more interesting primary sources, overseas perspectives, analyses. Fox is a kind of scrim in front of what's really going on.
