Once elected they represent themselves, their party and their pocket book.
Does that cynicism apply to any other occupations, or is it just reserved for elected officials?
Try this. Pull up Google. Put in Weapons of Mass Destruction. Click on I am Lucky.
DysLex, just been readin about ya on Who Posted That. Wow. What an inneresting Herstory you have.
yikes whats it say? some of it may be true and i may need a quick defense!
Dys, no yikes. Your post was recognized because of what you said about living abroad and then coming back to the US and being shunned because of differences such as color/colour and other small discolourations. No big scary revelations. Unless you want to do them...and I will wait...hoping...
Well Kara ...... have you an explanation or not?

It is particularly relevant to elected officials since their function is to represent their constituents.
In most other occupations the main function is in one way or another to protect the bottom line.
On NPR's Morning Edition program today, they did a piece on a soldier who was recently killed while on patrol. They spoke to the young man's Aunt, who commented: "President Bush told us the war was over, but it's not over. Then, about a week ago, President Bush told them to 'bring it on,' well, they brought it on, and now my nephew is dead." She began to break down at that point, and was unable to continue.
The tears that are falling should fall on his head like a thunderstorm and may the death and destruction he caused haunt his dreams. And may the God he believes in punish him for the evil he has wrought with his lies and deceit.

A second Amen from me, au.
WHY, WHY, WHY does the administration not send another 150,000 troops over there and get a grip on our new colony? I simply cannot believe what this president is allowing to happen in Iraq. What if he went on national TV and said, "It is clear that we must double our forces in Iraq, take charge, get the institutions and security back in place, and bring an end to mob rule. We made a terrible error in going to war, and now we must try to put things right." Even that might not win the next election for him, but history might treat him with respect.
(Ge, don't get smart wit me, Kid. Da finger is a powerful weapon and should not be used by an innocent child. But I see you already took steps to remedy the situation.)
FYI, General Shinseki (then general of the Army) told this administration that it would require 200,000 troops to maintain security in Iraq after the war, but he was reprimanded and sent packing. Nothing this administration does is done on the basis of all the resources at their disposal. They come to their own conlusions and do the wrong thing every time - or is that most of the time? c.i.
Didn't GWBush claim that this "case closed" last weekend? c.i.
