DUH'byah gave his admin's ultimatum on St. Patrick's Day and my nephew's VERY speical birthday... March 17th (sacred for us Irish)... I will never forgive Duh b'ya for ruining it all. It was my nephew's first day as teenager dammit!!! But as we all know, the Cuisanart went from slice and dice to puree on March 19th! Many lives lost.. for what? Here's a hypotehetical:
GWB: Where's Bin Laden?
CP:
Every one of those deaths is on Saddam's head, and no one else's.
Now, let's take a look at the death toll resulting from leaving Saddam alone:
Quote:Since Saddam's ouster last month by U.S.-led coalition forces, mass graves have turned up across the country. The biggest, in the village of Mahaweel, in central Iraq, is said to contain the remains of more than
3,000 people killed during the 1991 Shiite revolt that followed the Gulf War.
Human rights groups say the country is dotted with such sites, possibly containing
tens of thousands of bodies.

Yeah, it's such a shame we didn't leave him in peace to continue his fine work.
Hmmm. He murdered people so it's okay if we murder people.
More like he murdered people and we stopped him from murdering more. Casualties of war are not murder.
Scrat does the false dilemma step AGAIN.
And, of course, My Lai is on the head of no one but the damned Viet Cong leadership. And those folks that happened to live near Noriega's house when the US surgically bombed - the folks that got barbecued - their deaths are on the head of Manuel.
Murder is murder. And, in the US criminal system, two wrongs cannot make a right.
scrat...McG...pssst....you might want to look into the role of the US in that Shiite uprising
"Casualties of war are not murder."
They sure are, McG. And particularly so when it's not a legitimate war but an invasion of a sovereign nation.

No, they are not. Murder is an llegal act commited with malice. War produces casualties. Call it what you will, but war does not equal murder. Get over it.
V-bombs...cute unsophisticated pioneering rocketry...causing non-murder.
Right. The phrase "War is hell" wasn't stated for no reason.
Imagine how many Iraqi caualties there could have been if the US didn't hold back? Imagine how many there would be if saddam hadn't been using human shields or placing artillery in civilian housing areas...
Imagine how many if Bush had used common sense and stuck to prosecuting the War on Terror.
The human shield thing...that's a good one...like a robber holding a kid in front of him...but the police blast a big hole in the curly-haired kid anyway....hell, the robber might have done this again god knows how many times.
McG (and scrat)
Your faith in your leaders isn't admirable nor any mark of good citizenship. It is far too often undiscerning and reactive. Likely, you consider that your stance is greatly different from the smiley flag wavers in North Korea, but it isn't.
A curious irony in all of this is that you two (and many others, of course) seem to hold that America, by dint of its institutions (constitution, governmental arrangement) cannot go bad. Yet on the other hand, the very leaders your support are meanwhile taking an axe to your institutions.
Cluster bombs are cute, too, Blatham...

Can't add a damn thing to those wise words.
Blatham, your continued criticism of my leaders is annoying and grating. It is usually filled with overzealous language and misinterpretation of facts. You, and many others here, seem to hold that America cannot do good. You hold the government in contempt and act as though it is evil incarnate.
If you could get past your leftist blinders, you may yet find that America is now, and will continue to be the greatest nation in the world.
McG - The USA is a great nation. Its the people running the country we have a problem with.
McG
Misinterpretation of facts? Please forward any examples.
That you are annoyed isn't bothersome, all sorts of folks get annoyed by all sorts of things.
And what on earth might the phrase 'the greatest nation in the world' mean? It is such a silly, unthinking statement which is, you gotta admit, also mouthed by North Koreans.
McG, You must learn to understand/comprehend that one country is capable of doing good and bad at the same time. c.i.
