The above post was the twenty second of the thread, when finally partyjohn gave some form of hint that he was a Christian.

By that stage, a few people had already arrived on the thread and had made that assumption, based on no evidence whatsoever.

There are many gods out there, in the warring jungle of religeon. Why did they automatically assume he was a Christian?

He could have been referring to Allah, Thor, Odin, Loki or many others.

I just had a secret wish that he would turn out to be a follower of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Well then Parmesan cheese would be in order. That's a semi-stinky cheese.

A subliminal message! You're right, Soozoo. That's what made me (and probably Kicky) immediately think of cheese.

Mmmm, cheese on spaghetti.

If you're wondering why so many people seem to be anti religeon, partyjohn, maybe you should try reading this for starters......and then do a bit more research of your own.

http://www.white-history.com/hwr43.htm

Snippet:-

"Racial Consequences of the Thirty Years' War - ONE THIRD OF GERMAN POPULATION KILLED

The racial consequences of the Christian Wars, and in particular the Thirty Years' War, were vast. The German population was reduced by at least one third, and probably more:... when combined with the effects of the Great Plague of the 1300s, the German population actually shrunk by over 50 per cent in the course of 300 years: a massive decline which, if avoided, would certainly have changed the course of world history.

When the history of the Christian Wars is read in conjunction with the 20th century conflict in Ireland; the torture and lunacy of parts of the Inquisition; the suppression of learning and science caused by the Christian Dark Ages; and the division the White populations into opposing Christian camps in even supposedly secular countries such as North America; then no other conclusion is possible except to say that the introduction of Christianity has to count as the single greatest ideological catastrophe to ever strike Europe."

Like I have said before, religeon is the most effective form of tribalism, IMO.

That's a good question. I guess I assumed it because it's been my experience that it's the Christians that love to pound their chests and wail loudly about how they love "GOD". This while they are busy waging war, robbing the national treasury, and generally being unChristianlike.

Stevepax,

I do love God and I do tell Him and others that I do. I do not, however; rob the national treasury; nor have I actually waged a war on anyone.

I read these things in these posts a lot and yet, when you are told by some Christians that is not what they do or believe, it is ignored.

I even told you I was not a Christianity at all costs Christian and you said, well, I'd be the exception. Then, you proceeded to try to point out that I was one of those types. So, does it matter if you are shown something different or not? I'm getting the feeling it doesn't matter.

Isn't there some little Christian saying that goes something like, the only way to the father is though the son, or heaven though the son, some nonsense like that. I guess I should go look it up so I can be accurate.

Stevepax,

The correct verse would be John 14:6

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Momma, I'm 2 out of 2, and I haven't even really tried. You were afraid I was going to hijack partyjohns thread, (that was just before you all turned it into a song fest).

I was willing to let it drop, but since you brought it back up ... Tell me Momma, how do you feel about "right to die". Specifically that poor woman Terry in Florida that Tom DeLay brought an action before congress to "save" ??? Pull the feeding tube, yea or nea ??

Stevepax,

Right to die? I would really like to see something done so that if someone has a wish to die with dignity when there is seemingly absolutely no chance of them recovering, put into place. Yes, I believe in miracles and yes, I believe that God could always heal someone. So, this would have to be a very carefully written law with a lot of ifs in it. I don't know if it is possible, but I don't like seeing anyone suffering either.

I think that if a person has something drawn up before this ever happens in their life then they should have that right. There are Do Not Resusitate orders all the time.

So if you interpret this verse, what does it mean??
