Richard Pryor... dead at sixty five
"And it looks like death came as a surprise to his ass too... nigga thought he was never going to die"
"And if you think we're going to bury you with all those rings and ****....
R.I.P. Richard...... you were one of the all time greats....
Damn...
He used to make cry from laughing so hard.
One of the greats indeed.
I really loved him. My mother did too.
He had not been much in the public eye in recent years--i suspect he will be missed, however, by all but the very young.
Oooohhh, I hadn't heard. Rest easy, Richard.
He and Steve Martin prolly set my sense of humor.
Another of the good ones gone
I know, bear. Really sad. Eugene McCarthy died as well. Don't know if he'll be missed or not.
I was so fond of his work that it bled into me and I became fond of him personally although of course I didn't know him.
I actually teared up. I didn't tear up when my parents died.
What was the name of that movie with Gene Wilder? Funnneeeeee.

there was silver streak and the one about the prison break... he and gene wilder worked well together. they seemed to have genuine fondness for one another that permeated their work.
Ah, yes, bear. That and Stir Crazy.
"We bad; we bad"
you're a little too bad (white boy implied)
You be right, bear. I had to be reminded. He was a genius.
The best stand-up comedian ever. Period.
I remember seeing
this stand-up performance movie when I was about fifteen or so with my brother and my parents. Oh my god, all of us had tears running down our faces. It's gotta be the funniest stand-up routine ever performed. When he tells the story of his horny pet monkey...or when he demonstrates how a woman takes a leak in the woods...or how his mother used to discipline him with switches, and how she would make him go out and get his own ass-beating switch...holy ****, I was just about pissing in my pants. The guy was a master storyteller.
at least he wasn't lynched.
I'm really sorry to hear this. He was a pioneer in comedy, absolutely hilarious. His work was genius and his heart was in it. It's always sad to see a one-of-a-kind trail blazer like this leave us.
