Funny, you didn't ask me if I voted for George Bush in that, did you? Did you even stop to wonder what I voted for or how I voted or anything like that at all? I doubt that you did.

I see no use in asking a person who they voted for. If you had wanted to volunteer it you would have.

Momma Angel wrote:
I did not vote in the last election. I was in the hospital. However, I did vote in the state elections. I did vote in an early ballot also. However, I did not cast a vote for President of the United States.

Does that mean that the early ballot was for the general election and you skipped the presidential part?

Look, when you made this comment to Green Witch, the clear implication was that you did not support him. You did not come up with the hospital excuse until she chastised you for not voting.

Momma Angel wrote:
I understand how you feel. I really do. What I don't understand is it seems just because someone is a Christian, they seem to be taking the flack for how everyone feels about the President.

I DIDN'T EVEN VOTE IN THE ELECTION! I had nothing to do with him being elected. There are Christians out here that don't think the same way other Christians do. WE ARE NOT ALL THE SAME.

However you have also said this.

Momma Angel wrote:
I will not speak against our President. I am proud to be an American. I am proud to call Mr. Bush president.

If you want to play chamelion go ahead, just understand that some of the issues concerning religion have become much more serious to many of us since George Bush took office.

Momma Angel wrote:
Are you having fun, Mesquite? Hmmm. Seems to me, you have gone from having civil discussions with now trying to discredit me? Hey, have at it.

As I have said before I dislike deception, especially from the self rightious. If you have had a recent epiphany regarding George, then I apologize.

Mesquite,

I did not vote for the current George Bush. I did vote for his father though.

I told Green Witch why I didn't vote. So? Geesh!

I did not vote for the current president. So what? I will not speak against him. Not all Christians support him ~ that is a factual statement and nothing more.

No one likes deception, Mesquite. No one, including me. You are taking certain statements out of context. Fine.

I will not speak against the president. I pray for our leaders. I may not agree with everything he does, but he is the president.

Now, let's call a truce, huh? I see no reason for this tit for tat. I thought you were better than that, I really did.

The most maddening thing about this whole thing is that no matter what you say, you can't get through the thick armor of willful ignorance that the blind faithful have erected around themselves. So you can't even have a rational discussion. No matter what you say, they always come back with this copout of "I just believe it."

BLIND FAITHFUL: "I believe that an invisible man in the sky is going to come down to earth and take all the good people like me up to the magic world in the sky because some book that was written thousands of years ago tells me it's true."

RATIONAL HUMAN BEING: "But you do realize that the book you are talking about is filled with stories and ideas stolen from other, older pagan religions, and is really just a bunch of horseshit, don't you? It's been proven. You can read about it all right hereif you want. And that's just the tip of the iceberg."

BLIND FAITHFUL: "I don't care what that says. I believe in the invisible man of MY bible."

It's maddening, I tell ya.
Since you are possessed of such erudition, perhaps you should educate us about all the bible myths and inconsistencies - one at a time, please, my brain is small.

Then I can show you one at a time that you have posted straw men.

How about you start with the ones I posted in that link. Go ahead, twist your brain into pretzels to come to your pre-determined conclusions. I'll enjoy watching it.
You posted them in that link? Or you posted the link?

I rarely visit off site links. Nothing against you. But it's your input I am searching for. So your telling me to visit a link is about as worthwhile as saying "it's in the encyclopedia, read it yourself". I want to know what you think.

I did visit the site for a look and found considerable evidence for the infiltration of pagan traditions and teachings into nominal christianity.

So what? Nominal christianity has little to do with the bible and nothing to do with God.

Are you saying there are some other references I may have missed that may discredit the bible? Point them out for me. I don't have time to do your work.

And after last night's events, I have decided to take a break from getting involved in the circle jerk that any conversation with you christians inevitably turns into. Maybe when I get real bored, and feel like banging my head against a brick wall again, I'll get back to you on this. Until then, enjoy your delusions.

kickycan,

Uh, oh. I guess that's a good thing? Willful ignorance? Again, yours or mine here? It can be stated both ways. That's why I feel it is important to not ridicule anyone for what they believe.

I do understand your frustration and I do appreciate the fact that you don't want to engage in this while you are frustrated. That is a good character trait, IMO.

I have enjoyed our discussion, Kickycan. Take care.

I'll explain,

I DO care, it just seems my vote wouldn't seem to matter if:

A) the election is already pre-rigged

B) whenever you do vote for a president, he either isn't who you expected him to be or they turn on ya

C) all in all....are there realy any true presidents?

I just can't help but feel this way.

It would help if they count right.

And there's still that fact that it's already known beforehand.

I don't need anything else about this tho, I'm allowed to feel this way just as strongly as the ones who do vote.

This is directed to you in general Lash.

Am I THE only one who doesn't vote in this forum??? Come on, stand up people, there's gotta be atleast one.

=)
