Yes, I could see where you could say God is everything, but that's just too general for me. God is each of us living up to our most highest potential. That would make more sense to me. And for the record, rambling is just fine with me. Smile

But what about those who aren't (which is quite a lot of people)? Is God not in them? If they weren't, then they wouldn't be alive, as God supports life.

So, is God a force or a person?

I couldn't see God as a person. I would see God as more of a "force." Yes, there are many people that aren't living up to their fullest potential, and I don't mean people like the mentally retarded or such. I mean people, for example, who may seem to have it all... A family, a good job, good health, and still, they aren't satisfied. When a person is wholly satisfied with their life, no matter what they may have or not have, that is living up to their fullest potential. You don't need a degree or a plaque on the wall to show your potential or what you've achieved.. Human potential is so simple, so genuine, that people forget that everything lies within themselves, not the outer forces that so highly influence us. Like Deepak Chopra says, God is within us, we are as much of God as God is us.

Of course it's a concept! We don't know anything, remember? It's what we choose to believe.

But, to answer neologist's question, I believe God is a force, neither man nor woman, nor human, nor beast, nor any material thing. At the same time, God is everything. God is that force that resides in all of us, like the conscience, but not.

you said God is not a lot of things there. But you said God is a force. That implies power over your material surroundings. In what way have you employed that power to change things? The fact is itisyousaj. No one else.

Define God

Someone/something who causes most in these parts to dedicate much time attempting to disprove through various methods. It's quite amazing to see folks focus so much energy into something they do not believe in.

Debunking superstition is a well established and worthy pursuit: palm readers, religionists, UFOlogists, fortune tellers all.

Waiting for someone to present a well defined logical case.

Neologist you should know better than requesting a "logical" case for "God" Laughing .

I don't know whether I've said this here already but it seems apparent that "god" is merely an attempt to "close the void". Just as our perceptual apparatus connot tolerate "inifinities" (as illustrated by the Moon Illusion) our psychological security is generally threatened by lack of "closure". We seek the "wamth and wisdom" of a parental figure who encompasses all. The rest...the holy books etc...is just imaginitive icing on the cake.
