You have made an additional unwarranted assertion, and you have provided no answer to the question.

Mr. Setanta,

Were you talking to me or to Walter? I would surely hate to jump in there and answer if you weren't talking to me!http://web4.ehost-services.com/el2ton1/heart.gif

MOAN, the question which you have not answered is, as it appears that you intend to keep dancing: Upon what basis do you assert that this is a scintilla of truth in that passage? That question is referential to an idiotic assertion you have made to the effect that the passage known as the beatitudes is an example of truth in the bobble.

Mr. Setanta,

I am sorry. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't being rude and assuming you were talking to me unless I really knew you were.

Well, let's take the example of love. In many threads everyone keeps telling me that if two people love each other, etc., we should love one another, etc. Is there truth in this? I think so. Don't you? So, if there is truth in what they are saying, isn't there then truth in what the Bible is saying in the Beatitudes about loving? I mean, it seems logical to me. Idea

Just let me know, Mr. Setanta, if I can answer this in a more elaborate manner for you! You know I love to help!http://web4.ehost-services.com/el2ton1/heart.gif

Aww Mr. Spendius,

What a nice thing for you to say! Laughing

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have an Angel meeting tonight so I will not be checking in for a couple of hours. I can't wait to come back and see what everyone is posting!

I didn't want anyone to think you were being ignored!http://web4.ehost-services.com/el2ton1/heart.gif

I know you love to spew childish nonsense, MOAN--i also know that you have provided no substantiation for a contention that the passage known as the beatitudes is an example of truth to be found in the bobble.

Mr. Setanta,

Are you feeling ok, Mr. Setanta? You sound just a little bit grumpy. Did you have a bad day at work today? I sure hope not!

I cannot prove anything in the Bible is true, Mr. Setanta. Was that a test? You almost had me going there for a minute! Laughing But, you know that I have faith that what the Bible says is true. But, alas, I can give you no scientific proof.

I was just asking that since the Beatitudes are about love and that is what everyone says we should do, well, it just sounded kind of a logical thought to me. But again, we don't all think on the same level, so maybe I just see it a different way than you do?

I hope you are having a wonderful evening, Mr. Setanta.http://web4.ehost-services.com/el2ton1/heart.gif

Mr. Gus!

How are you this fine night? I have been meaning to tell you that I just love those overalls! They are very common here in Louisiana. All the farmers just love them! I think they like all the pockets.

I am wearing a pair of jeans, some sandals, and a white shirt tonight! Thank you for asking! Laughing

I hope you have a great night, Mr. Gus!http://web4.ehost-services.com/el2ton1/heart.gif

Why Mr. Gus, how nice of you to be concerned about me! No, I'm not really hot. Actually, it's been kind of cool here in Louisiana lately. I do have the gas heater in my office going, but the flame is not too high!

How is the weather where you are?http://web4.ehost-services.com/el2ton1/heart.gif

au1929,

Actually, au1929, that is straight out of the Bible, which I might add, seems quite a few of the non-believing and non-religious like to ignore.

And you should add do many quasi religious

That is a lesson that parents and the religious organizations should teach. And while they are at it they should also stress tolerance for people of other beliefs. That is where religion is sorely lacking. If it were not, would religious strife and prejudice have been so prevalent through the ages. IMO the introduction of bible study in the public arena will be a catalyst for more strife and prejudice. There is no way that the use of the bible as a teaching tool can be religion neutral. In addition what is there in the bible that is of any educational value.

au1929,

What is of educational value? The Ten Commandments maybe? Some of those commandments have actually been made into manmade laws. What about honoring your parents? That sounds pretty good to me.

IMO there will always be strife concerning religion because there will always be those that believe and those that do not believe; thus ~ strife.

Do you actually believe that without the ten commandments people would be running about wantonly killing. That is more than they already do.

In addition in where do you think the ten commandments originated. Religion is a man made concept.

Perhaps you don't believe the Ten Commandments came from God, but I do believe they do.

au1929, I believe the more people that turn away from God, yes, the more the wantonness in the world. That's my opinion.
