I bet you figured this as a joke, right? Well, check out the photo and story below! More photos in link. Click the photo on the story page.
Golden Retriever Gives Birth To Green Puppy
At least the reporter did his homework and found out that canine placenta contains green pigment. I somehow doubt that the puppy stays that color a really long time.
Can you explain why only one puppy, and not all of them, is affected?

It is obviously the result of a alien/labrador cross. This 'hybrid' will of course grow up to rule our planet...
...don't believe me????
from this...
to this!!!!
I, for one, welcome our new doggie overlords....

Gosh darn he sure is cute...how long till he and his type take over? Do they have a name yet for the species?

In the new order, you will be known as The Bearer of the Biscuits.
Hmmm...that is the GOOD possibility.
In the bad case scenario, he IS the biscuits.
We had a green pup. They turn norm color soon.
Yeah, but did you find the blue paw print?
We must solve the clues to fine orange kitten!
Thanks for the various humorous comments, guys!
BUT, the question still remains, why is only one puppy affected?
Huh, huh, huh?
Re: Golden Retriever Gives Birth To Green Puppy
How cute, I want him
Mr Stillman, and jespah, I'm a believer
When the green puppy was born, we were told it was poison from the mother. The green puppy was last out and the mother was having a difficult time of it. I don't know if that is true but was this the last pup?

Ah, good point, Bella! Didn't think of that, but a distinct possibility!
Ha, so the mother may have been expelling the placenta at the same time as the pup? Don't look at me, I'm no expert on this.
But he is definitely cute and all ready for St. Paddy's Day.
His name is Wasabi! THAT is absolutely adorable...
(DrewDad, sozlet went right to Blue's Clues, too; "The Green Puppy on Blues' Clues is SUPER green, and that one is just kind of... <makes so-so motion with her hand>")
jespah, that seems to be what happened. If green amniotic fluid comes out early, I heard it is a sign of problems/anxiety.
Hey there!
How's it going?
You might be thinking of the um, meconium? that is a sign of fetal distress, different from amniotic fluid. It's released INTO the amniotic fluid, though.
Just checked, yeah, meconium.
ahhhh okay!
HOWDY! I have to get going to yet another hospital appt, but I made a post on the North America forum.
