MA,
This next weekend there will be a TV program about Da Vinci on the History channel. I have just learned that the filming of the program is actually in Latvia. The costumes are from Poland. I was certainly going to watch - but, now, will avidly watch and record.

Hey Wildclickers!!

We are missing 4.2 clicks per day for the last three weeks. The end result is that our goal of reaching 50 acres on the first of the year is now projected to be 8 Jan 06.

Keep those clicks clicking. Our breath is at stake.

Thanx for that tip, Dannon. daVinci in Latvia? Hmm. To the best of my knowledge he never made it up that far north (though his countryman Giacomo Casanova did, a few centuries later). Richard Wagner lived in Riga for a while and taught some private students there. The Latvian cultural ministry must have offered the film-makers some good incentives to come and film there, instead of in Italy. Smart folks, those cousins of mine. Smile

G'Day all,
clickednclickednclickednclickednclicked, etc.

MA, I am reminded of film makers in the NW USA. Seattle doesn't offer as many incentives as Vancouver, BC - so Vancouver gets most of the movie making traffic in that area. Seattle gets fewer movies.

It's the middle of the week. Germany and Austria call it the "middle of the week". ((Appropriately so..grin))

All clicked..............................

Stradee, Thanks for the link......

ul, That is great re Mozart. It is unfortunate that the last apartment he lived - and where he died - was destroyed. It's site, of course is at the corner of Rauhensteing and the Ballgasse where all the carpenters are still located after all these hundreds of years.... my favorite city - Wien

TGIalmostF MA, That feeling is why God created retirement. Of course, it is usually more work being retired than working for a living. No kidding.

hump, bump, middle of the week day

I went out for appies with a friend after work.
The middle of the week break does a lot more for me than any amount of Friday night carousing ever could.

MA and all, here is a pic of a board I collected in Wien many many years ago. It's very very old.

http://img388.imageshack.us/img388/4826/regen08in.jpg

From the top it sez=

<<I'm not really sure about the spelling - it appears to be in really old german spelling.>>

enjoy.

Here is a <rough> translation of the board. Any corrections appreciated.....
------------------------------------

Untruglicher Wetteranzeiger fur alle Tage und Nachte des Jahres.
((Unmistakable weatherindicator for all days and nights of the year))

Heiter = Wenn der Strick von der Sonne oder von Mond beschienen ist.
((Bright or cheerful = If the cord is from the sun or moon reflecting))((not sure about the word beschienen.))

Regen = Wenn der Strick nas ist.
((Raining = When the cord is wet.))

Veranderlich = Wenn der Strick abwechselnd nas und trocken ist.
((Variable or unstable = When the cord alternately is wet and dry.))

Wind = Wenn der Strick bewegt wird.
((Windy = When the rope sways))

Sturm = Wenn der Strick hin und her schwankt.
((Stormy = When the rope swings back and forth.))

Erdbeben = Wenn der ..... Wetteranzeiger herunter geworsen wird.
((Earthquake = When this weather reporting board falls down.))

Today's weather indicator:
rope frozen-- Frost.
Very cold today because of the humidity- but the trees look just wonderful, all covered in hoarfrost ( or is the right word "rime"?).
