Whats your skincare routine.

Not because of this 'If I look like a model, Il be seen as a better person' rubbish going on in the world I just thought I should try to look after my skin.
I dont mind getting older with a few wrinkles but I just thought Id try to do something now while im relatively young to delay things.

Im not into expensive products, ok they may work but they cost a fortune over the years and unless they do one for the whole body it kinda seems silly to 'judge a book by its cover'.

So what do you do?
Do you always take your make up off before you go to bed?
Pay particular attention to keep a certain area looking youthful, eyes, round the mouth?
Do you try not to pull your skin when you dry it after washing?

Girls and boys welcome.

Ya know, sometimes I take my make up off, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I use my night cream, sometimes I don't. I always use moisturizer with spf 15 in it in the morning.

I use Body Shop stuff and I love it. Don't know if they have a UK connection but you can buy online. They are not that expensive and they work great. Oil of Olay dried my skin out somthing fierce, which is weird since it is suppose to be great to keep you looking younger. My skin actually burned when I put intensive cream on it because it was so dry from the Oil of Olay. Now, I have virtually no breakouts and my skin looks healthy, where as before I had dry patches.

I always take make up off with a moist tissue,
but other than that, I just use moisturizer with sunscreen
in the morning. I use different brands but they're always for
sensitive skin and hypoallergenic. Less is more!

Eating healthy, drinking plenty of water, getting enough sleep, and not smoking will do more for your skin than the best
creams.

I've never used a skin care product that seemed to make a darn bit of difference....I think it's all in your head.

Like CJ says healthly living has the biggest effect on your appearance. Equally important is having good genes. So, make sure you pick your parents and grandparents wisely.

Neutragena hand lotion works great on your face, works as well as anything else.

WOW MG, your doing an entire makeover on yourself, inside and out!

Have you tried your tofu yet?

I got some of that other stuff greenwitch was talking about, the wheat stuff? Haven't tried it yet. Probably will tonight.

I think you are wrong Chai. I think different brands do work differently. My proof is my skin. My dry patches and sensitive skin went away after switching brands. I don't think that's all in my head.

Yes Bella, you always should buy products that compliment
your skin type, i.e. non-oily for oily skin, moisturizer for
dry skin, and sensible products for sensitive skin -
but it doesn't really matter if you use the most expensive
product line and follow a daily ritual, or if you just apply
a cheaper moisturizer (for your skin type) that does the
trick.

ok then, my aunt flow is visiting right now, so I'm probably on edge.

you know what I CAN'T use?

that caress soap w/ cocoa butter. I used the body wash once and my legs from the knees down broke out so badly it made me cry.

Also, Dove products suck. the deorderant? it actually MAKES me stink.

Yep, I'm a neutragena/ban girl, yep.

Oh and Feria for my hair color....I'm going less red this weekend, more brownish red...

going to NY next week, if I run into Kicky, I don't want him thinking I'm some whore.

I know but I am telling you that brand does[/I matter. Price, maybe not so much, but I used sensitive skin Oil of Olay for a long time. Made dry patchs on my skin. I broke out. Same with the generic version of Oil of Olay, which is much much cheaper. I used several store brands and I used Clinique. Never got the results I got when I switched to Body Shop. My stubborn dry patches went away. My break outs lessened. Which leads me to the conclusion that brand does matter. (why is this so difficult? Laughing )

Okay Bella, somewhat you're right. I've used Nivea since
I was a little child and still do as I never had a problem with it.

Dto. for bodywash - either Nivea or Addidas or Fa (not everywhere available. Also Fa deodorant (gel) is good.

I don't like Caress or Dove either, it dries out the skin too
much.

Do you have Trader Joe's? They have an excellent Grapefruit
wash and body lotion - inexpensive and good.

Oh man, skin is my specialty. It is where I go all girly.
You can get a way with a lot if you take care of your skin.

Three step process every day. The old routine you always hear of: cleanse, tone, and moisturizer with spf 30 for me.

I love Body Shop products. Their nut butter is heaven; i tell you!

I use Yves Rocher eye cream. Lip balm every day. And drink a lot of water. Eat well, etc. Exercise. Seriously, this sh*t works.

If you are stressed your skin is gonna look crappy.

Don't pick at your zits. Don't wear your hair in your face. Don't use hot water on your face. Don't touch your face when you can help it and wash your hands.

This all sounds simple; but added up it works.

Ohhh, and if you tan you might as well scrub your face with steel wool.

MG - I use Anne French Cleansing Milk to remove makeup
http://www.westons.com/acatalog/ann3u.jpg

And I use Johnsons Baby Lotion to moisturise my face before putting on makeup. I find I use less foundation and it spreads more evenly when I use moisturiser underneath it.

That's it for my beauty routine. I've tried many creams, face-masks, etc., and I just don't have the patience for all that stuff.
