Atheists... Your life is pointless

Timberlandko,

There is a simple solution to this bickering over whether atheism is "a belief". The words "believe in" imply "existence". Atheists have no belief in the existence of a deity and may also believe that theists have no evidence to support their belief. This conjunction of (a) lack of belief in the pimary construct and (b) belief in the fallacy behind its construction is usual but not always the case. Both aspects are of course contingent on primary construct.

My own solution (stated elsewhere) differs from the mainstream. From the position of "reality" being a "social construction", I would argue that all concepts "exist" by virtue of their conception but what matters is the nature of our interrelationship/expentacies with respect to such "existence". So as an atheist I have a negative relationship with the "God concept". This negative relationship involves expectancies of negative events resulting from the different relationship to the concept by on the part of others.

So then atheists do not know if there is?

That is a start......not knowing something admits we can be wrong.

It is not for me to determine.

You're goddamned right about that--but it didn't stop you puking up definitions of who believes what and whether or not they are therefore leagued with Satan--all as though you had some authority to make such statements absent any form of substantiation. That's why i've refused to answer your idiotic questions and play your brainless games: because you came here to judge others and puke up your imaginary friend beliefs to be asserted to be the irrefutable truth. Save you maundering for those sufficiently uncritical as to swallow your pap, which, once again, ain'ta gonna include me.

Bartikus,

If you want me to take the word "know" to pieces for you, I can do, but I don't think this is the appropriate place. Suffice to say that my reference to the social construction of reality woould make no distinction between "knowledge" and "belief" except along the dimension "degree of consensus".
All your talk of "truth" would be deemed simplistic attempts at eliciting such consensus. It is in essence a "social activity" but involves mostly "yourself as convincer" and "yourself being convinced". Nobidy else is involved !

In my m ind there is atheism and there is various forms of theism. Agnosticism is a position invented by christian apologetics to lend creedence to their position.
An agnostic says 'well, there might be a omnipotent spiritual boogyman' where the atheist says 'I have no reason to take that seriously'
The former is already on the christian hook.
Agnosticism is just weak theism.

But yoa Fadda inside da sky, he know you guys need um. Main ting, make God yoa Boss, cuz he da King. Do da right ting jalike he do, an you guys goin get all da stuffs you need." (Matthew 6:31-33 From Da Jesus Story.

It would much more entertaining, and captures the level don't you think !

The only way to end terrorism on earth of all sorts is to realize that all terror begins within and the only thing that can end that for all mankind is truth... which is in Jesus.

When error comes against error......error remains. The purpose of error is to simply multiply itself among men.....to deny men the Truth in men's hearts. To deny mankind the Truth that will endure forever.

When error comes against what is true.....Truth will prevail in the end for the sake of what is true.

The enemy of man uses...all of mankind's fears of losing their lives to do this!

No man can save his own life...only God can through Truth in Christ Jesus!

This is what has been revealed. "Freedom"? Men are made slaves under such punchlines!

True freedom comes from knowing the truth.....and the truth sets men free.

As long as a man can be made to fear for his life over the fear of losing the truth (Jesus). Slaves will men remain.

I like your sig Intrepid.....at first I did not perceive it for what it is!
