MA

There is the clearest historical evidence that belief in a deity is the single most frequent rationale for war and strife. Moderates who stand on the sidelines shaking their heads, saying "this is nothing to do with me" are placing themselves in the same category as those "good Germans" who only joined the Party for the uniform and the jolly camping trips.

In Genesis, God parted pre-existent water that filled the Universe into two halves. One above and the other below. In the middle God created Heaven, a firmament meant to hold back the water above, and Earth. Earth is a consolidation of land and the water below was consolidated into the oceans and seas. This implies a Flat Earth. Either God lied or the Bible writers made up it up theorizing the Creation of the Universe.

Theists, your Bible is pointless...

MA,
There is precious little evidence in your posts that you differ significantly from those views regarding separation of church and state.

One of the things they do when no-one is watching is make love to a divine creation rather than an expensively groomed monkey.

If you have no answer other than a bellow the least you can do is put a touch of style into it.

Well-what's a "proverbial Christmas goose" then and why would one be full of censored ****?One assumes a goose is partly filled with a sage and onion confection known as stuffing if it is to be consumed to celebrate the birthday of Jesus.

Further to that it is well known that there is no difficulty in getting a response out of me.

Your literal interpretation leaves much to be desired, sir.

The point at issue is whether or not our ladies are divinely created creatures or expensively groomed monkeys which is what evolutionists must think they are and I know many who do so.

A bellow is unsatisfactory from an intellectual point of view as an answer and is normally seen as conceding the point albeit grudgingly.

More a snort than a bellow but previous post applies just the same.

Mesquite,

I have never even gotten close to telling you or anyone else that "AT WHATEVER COST" I want the laws the way I want them. I told you and others over and over again, WITHIN THE LAWS OF THE LAND.

And, did you ever tell me what you thought of this? I don't recall anyone ever saying anything about it.

A theory of evolution is not an ideology . . . therefore, there is no such thing as an "evolutionist" . . . at all events, one expects puerile comments on women from certain sources, but is unlikely to encounter such comments in a scientific context . . .

Speaking of "this life" perhaps "the point" of an atheists life is to tell theists to WAKE UP before its too late !

Too late for what??? If someone is living what they believe to be a fulfilling life by dedicating their life to God, then what is there to regret??? If they're wrong, they'll never know because they'll be dead!!! The worst case scenario is that they lived what they felt to be a good, decent life. So I fail to see what all the fuss is about.

Yes, talk7200, the Bible was written by men with the knowledge of their age. They were ignorant by present standards. If they were communicating to us truths from an omniscient God, their writings would indicate a round earth and one of very great age.

John, the "fuss" is about people giving up the ability to see the world with an open mind.

JLN, So simple, and yet so difficult, that people of religion fails to see the obvious that the bible was authored by men who thought they knew all there was to know about this planet. Their mistakes are ignored by the religious hoping that there is life after death.
