Start with that comment about everyone being born an atheist!

Trying to revive the war on semantics again?

You sounded as if you already knew it quite well, considering how you so quickly and confidently labelled it as outlandish.

Do you know anyone who was born believing in a god? Or anything else, for that matter?

FBM he is trying to wrestle you into an argument of semantics. He believes that atheism means active disbelief in a god. Different than non-belief. So he will argue that babies don't actively disbelieve in a god and therefore can not be considered atheists.

The problem is we don't have a word that describes a person who doesn't have a belief in something. A completely neutral position, because the definition of atheist has been bent and messed up in the dictionary to mean active disbelief.

@FBM,
Why don't you answer the question?

Tell me what you position is...and if you would be so kind, I would appreciate you starting with your comment about everyone being born an atheist.

Strange. You seemed so confident earlier in trashing my position, it's only reasonable to surmise that you know it quite thoroughly.

And in response to your request, see my last post above, plz.

Actually, the definition of atheist has been bent and messed up by modern atheists who do not have the balls to defend their beliefs that there are no gods.

Atheism throughout history has meant someone who believes there are no gods.

Although if you are up for it, why not humor him? I know he loves this game of semantics though. It will at the minimum make him happy to discuss it once again for probably the hundredth time here.

Only for people who do not know how to read properly. I gave no indication that I knew your position quite thoroughly. I asked you a question about a specific that you wrote.

I've re-read your response. You still have not answered the question.

Yeah, I'm getting the feel of it now. I think I'll pass on this one. Cheers.

I'm not prepared to get into it at the moment. I'll just say "Pyrrho of Elis" and if you're interested enough, you'll be able to ascertain my "position" from that. Cheers.

I suspect you mean Pyrrhus of Epirus--but no matter. I understand completely.

Wow I see you are back at it again Frank "being a bully Laughing

Do you think that it takes larger balls to defend a non belief in a God than it does a non belief of an Easter bunny?

@FBM,

I suspect Pyrrhus of Epirus would have been a better proffer. I had just offered Pyrrhus of Epirus** during a discussion in another thread minutes before you wrote, so I thought that is where you were going. I seldom go to classical philosophers for thoughts...you know earth, wind, fire, water and all that. Sorry.

I'm never a bully, RL. I'm not smart enough to try that. I was merely trying to instigate a discussion on a subject I enjoy with someone new. Apparently, to my dismay, that is not going to happen.

Oh, Now we are going to the Easter bunny. No unicorns for the moment...or CPA's working on one of the moons of Saturn!

Tell me, RL...why do you believe there are no gods?

No need to apologize. Nobody is born knowing all this stuff. It's acquired through the educational process.

@reasoning logic,
And you're back on the same track with your simplistic arguments. If you want to be taken seriously you should knock the Easter Bunny thing on the head.

Also it might be an idea not to blame everything on socio/psychopathic behaviour.

Frank's not a bully, he's a bit dogmatic, but then again so are you.

It's also a salutory lesson not to post in haste. Check out the facts first or you end up with egg on you're face.

We've all done it.

I do not have a belief on the issue but I do have an understanding and this understanding has no evidence that supports the existence of any Gods or Easter bunnys
