I was there earlier this week on business and took my last photos of Field's windows also. The Cinderella theme is cute and I loved the Prince wearing a conrow braided hairstyle. So multi-ethnic! Went inside the store and fumbled my way up to the ninth floor where the advertising dept. was located back in the '80's, when I worked there. Everything is so different now but I was able to pinpoint the old entrance to our offices.
Took great shots of the big Christmas tree in the Walnut Room also. Should I post them?
Fer sure!
HOW earlier this week? We were there until Tuesday at about noon. Geesh, what if we crossed paths in front of Marshall Field's?!
I was there Monday evening about 6:00pm.
Close!!
We were there Monday evening but later.
I'll post photos tomorrow!
How come no one on this site mentioned the Chicago Water Tower , when I asked about things to see? That thing is wicked cool.....
The only thing standing after the Great Fire. I'm sorry I missed seeing it.
Maybe next time.
There are just too many cool things in Chicago, Gus!
It really is so cool though. It was right by our hotel.
Wanna see my pic of the Field Museum featuring Sue's butt?
I don't recall going to the Field Museum. I'm pretty sure I walked right by it. It's by the Shedd, isn't it?
Hey, gus, you must've missed my post about wanting to see the water tower.
Yep, it's right by the Shedd. Oh, you missed out big time, Gus, SO your kind of thing. All sorts of faunal (is that a word? floral is) weirdness.
Sozlet's favorite this time was the unwrapped boy mummy.
The dino wing is having its grand reopening May 2006, here's hoping it'll be by May 6th...
The 3 story Christmas tree in Marshall Field's Walnut Room restaurant
Holy CRAP! The Burghoff is closing Feb 28th. I think I'm gonna cry
Eoe, when is your b-day? Is it near the 15th? Maybe we can throw a virtual shinding!

Sorry JB. Didn't realize you'd rang...
My b-day is in September. The 26.
Regarding Marshall Field (now owned by Macy's):
In the past few years, Marshall Field had prominent billboards advertising their expensive fashion designs. One billboard at a CTA train station showed glamorous women in fur coats. The caption read: "This would look totally hot in the Loop!". Someone wrote graffiti under the caption that said: "But it would look totally ridiculous in Berwyn."
Sorry...I'm missing the point, other than Berwyn being Hicksville compared to the Loop.
No real point, eoe. I just thought it was amusing.
Calling all Chicagoans...
I'll be spending quite a bit of me-time in the city between the 18th and the 24th. Is anyone interested in getting together for dinner or drinks or music?

Sounds good to me. Maybe we could finally go to the Green Mill.
