You guys are going to have a difficult time finding a fish fry on a wednesday night in Milwaukee. If you make it a Friday night, Slim's is the place to go. Delicious fish fry and even better tap selection (I recommend the Bell's Two Hearted Ale). Even if you come up Wednesday and miss the fish fry they have some pretty good food. A little higher quality than your usual bar food.

If you want good Italian I recommend DiCarlo's in oak creek (just south if Milwaukee). Delicious pizza too. The Pasta Primavera Rotolo is to die for.

Mexican? Do Botana's Pick just about anything off the menu and you won't be disapointed. The margarta's are stiff and they have a nice tequilla and mexican beer selection, too.

The Water Street Brewery is a upscale bar with a unique food menu and delicious micro brews.

Sushi? Definately Izumi's. Delicious delicious delicious.

If you guys want to drop a dime or two but have a fantastic time and eat delicious meats, try Sabor. It is pricey but would be an absolute blast with a group of people and the food is amazing.

Let me know if you want any other suggestions. I won't be able to make it unfortunately. I have classes Wednesday nights but I will be there in spirit for sure.

Sorry to hear you can't make it, jp. We'll connect with you soon!

Guys? Any preferences?

Dys, I'll post the lineup as soon as it's available. There's nothing yet on Clapton's website, but I'm sure it will be a great day.

Oh I'm sure it is no big deal... more of a check up than anything for now. But thanks for caring.

If you guys want some entertainment after dinner, Botanas, and slims are just south of downtown, Izumi's is on the eas side with is full of fun bars and unique shops, Sabor is on Water street right in the heart of downtown and near a ton of bars theaters and such. Di Carlos is actually south of Mil so there really isn't much around. You could also pick just about any restaurant in the 3rd ward (south of 794, east of 94, north of the river) and there is a ton of shops, theaters, art galleries around them... plus most of the restaurants there have good eats and drinks, too.

No sushi for me. Brewpub sounds good.

I can take the suburban train or else take the el and meet with Sublime on the north side -- whatever works best.

Ok, gentlemen, it's time for the details.

Sublime gets back today. I'm sure he'll check in tonight, but I'll send him a reminder anyway.

jw - are you able to join us? I hope so, but getting you home might be an issue. There is no good way to get to the western suburbs from here by train. The last two inbound trains from here are at 8:44 (probably too early) and 10:55 arriving at Union Station at 11:45 (possibly too late). I think the jeep only seats two (sublime?). Do you have any thoughts?

Bill - are you ok with meeting at the Brewery? Is so, we'll go with that. Otherwise, give us your preference. I'll pm you my cell phone # so you can find me when I get lost  Actually, sublime and joe have both rescued me from driving around in eternal circles more than once so we should be fine.

joe - any issues with your schedule that have changed your availability?

The weather is on our side. It's supposed to start snowing late but we should be good to go.

sorry, jw, wish you could join us. I'm going to see about getting all of us out for a weekday lunch (probably a Wednesday) as soon as it warms up a bit.

Are you guys going to the Water Street Brewery?

They have some major construction on the Marquette Interchange (downtown) right now. I would suggest taking 94 north (94 merges with 43... just follow signs for downtown) and exiting on National Avenue (exit 311). It is kind of a goofy exit, so once you exit it curves around and goes underneath the freeway. Once you get to the stop sign, take a right and then when you get to a traffic light, take another right, which is National Avenue. Take that down... maybe a half mile and turn left onto 1st street. 1st street becomes Water Street once you cross over the river. Just stay on Water street until you come to the Water Street Brewery. It will be on the left hand side. The NW corner of Water and East Highland.

I'm not sure if it is in season, but they have a Raspberry Weiss that is absolutely delicious. For those of you that like darker heartier beers, try the Dopplebock. Of course they have tasters you can order, too. Hope you guys have fun... wish I could be there.

It looks like I may have to work Wed. so I will probably be going straight to JPB's house. Do we have a meet up time yet? Oh and don't worry about directions, I'll bring my new toy.
