Ah, nice! It's early to plan specifics yet, but do you want us to leave you alone to settle in that day or should we plan on getting together?

Although I'm - surprise, surprise - one year older than last year, I suppose, I don't need more time to settle than then = none = I'm ready from about 3 PM onwards

I sure would. His presence makes the Packers a very beatable team.

Hey, Gus! Walter is coming to Chicago for a few days starting May 31. Can you drive your truck here so that you can finally meet Walter in person?

Did anyone hear our mayor on the news yesterday talking about the O'Hare Airport expansion plan? He made a classic remark about the increase in costs: "Thirty years ago the land cost twenty million dollars. Today the cost is ninety million. That's fifty million dollars!"

I disagree, Gus. See, Favre has 147 career wins (out of 240 starts), one win behind John Elway. He's had ONE losing season out of sixteen. But alas, I guess you're the math genius.

Well, so far we know that Walter will be arriving from Germany on May 30th, Swimpy is going to try to make it for at least part of the time, O'Bill is keeping us in mind for a possible visit, and of course all of us lovely locals will be here.

Whatdoyasay?

JPB, I'll start to look for air and hotel deals for those dates. Who knows? I might find something that'll fit my pocketbook. Wink

Found a flight and hotel for my "last" visit to Chicago. Arrival is May 29, and departure is June 6. BTW, hotels in Chcago are "expensive!" I'll be staying at N Lincoln Park West. See ya'll in May-June. T.

It's a big weekend in Chicago.

The other forum I frequent rescheduled from that weekend as a result. Apparently a couple of huuuuuge med conferences on.

Have a great time - let Walter take a ton-o photos (so I can see them in his camera when he gets back to NYC).

O'Bill is checking out of the midwest and moving on to warmer spot(s). I'd like to make another trek to Cedarburg before he leaves and welcome anyone else who's interested to join me.

Nothing set in stone yet, though my contract negotiations are essentially complete and VERY satisfactory. The last detail is just a preventative measure I want to include to avoid friction down the road.

I'm frantically trying to tie up loose ends in preparation for the move... and hope to be on the road by the end of the month. There's a LOT of loose ends left, so no definite dates yet.

So far, I know that Sublime has a conflict for 'next' weekend.

Sounds good, any tentative dates in mind? I will be in MI next weekend but nothing else set in stone.

But, I don't know if we have the same definition of next (to me it's 2/24 and 2/25 while 'this' weekend is 2/17 and 2/18).

Thomas, joe, and I made the trip on a weeknight last May and were back at my place by 11:00. I'm willing to drive a group from here if any of the city folks want to get together and come as far as my place.

So, let's check in with interest and dates...

Me - Not 2/19, otherwise I'm open.

joe -

sublime -

jp (no longer in Milwaukee) -

Gargamel -

JW -

Bill (what works for you?) -

anyone else -

Bill is a great guy. I would love to see him off.
(Does Cedarburg have paved roads? Smile )

Anyway, I can not suggest dates myself.
I have always had difficulty because of family stuff.
You guys make a decision and I will try my best.

I won't drive with Sublime unless he puts the top on his Jeep.

Barring anything unforeseen, I'm free on any weekend for the next month.

I don't know if I'll be able to do Cedarburg as my weekends are pretty booked right now. But I'll reassess once you guys set a date.

My only regret is simply that we'll miss OBill at our next Chicago Gathering in June.

"JPB" must be short for "sweetheart". It hadn't even occurred to me you were thinking Roadtrip. I was planning on arranging my departure to stop for a meal in Chicago (nothing too fancy, as my finances are at nearly all-time lows). Either or both are fine by me. I'll be looking forward to seeing any and all of you! Thanks for being so damned cool!

Either works, but you'll have one and only one night that your on you way through Chicago and we might be able to pull more people together on a different night and bring the party to you.

Let's keep gathering availability from everyone and we'll go with whichever direction works best.
