Talking about building clocks, the Wrigley Building is missing their hands. I wonder if they ever plan to replace it.

Guess they have to sell some more gum! Laughing

Update: joe and I have come up with a plan.

We'll meet for dinner at the Mambo Grill at 6:30 unless Sublime wants us to change it to 7:00. Mambo Grill

We'll go over to Kingston Mines for some music after dinner. The music starts at 9:30 on Monday so we might want to find somewhere else. I'll have my car and I can get all of us from the Mambo Grill to wherever we end up. I probably won't drive back toward the loop from Halstead but it's an easy cab ride back to the hotel for CowDoc and MrsDoc. Kingston Mines

We have a possible dilemma with the Mambo Grill. They are closed on Sundays and the online reservation system isn't letting me make a reservation for tomorrow. I'll call them tomorrow morning when I can talk to a human and try to get us in, but in the meantime I've made a reservation for a party of seven at Cafe 28 at 6:30. joe and I were there for dinner recently and it's very good. Sublime has indicated a desire to try it also. It's close to Kingston Mines and other music venues. joe - If you'd rather not go back to Cafe 28 so soon I'll be happy to try other places but I need ideas. I'll cancel this reservation if I'm successful on getting us into Mambo Grill or elsewhere - stay tuned.

CowDoc, are we still a party of seven or have your friends returned to Idaho?

Also, regardless of where we end up, the first round is on me ~

Noddy, there's a mini-gathering of A2Kers in Chitown on Monday. I'd like to offer a special thought to you during the evening. What shall we drink on your behalf?

J_B--

A little bourbon and branch water would be elegant--if accompanied by good wishes.

Again, thank you all so much. My ambiguous mammogram was less than two weeks ago, but I'm all of a frazzle with speculation.

Gary and Joyce are leaving Tuesday or Wednesday, so - yes, we should be seven for dinner Monday night. Terrie will meet you at the lion tomorrow. She says she can wear her NACo badge so you can recognize her more easily. See you tomorrow!

Cafe 28 if fine with me. Although if you want to recreate the first night of the A2K meet-up, J_B, we should all go to the Duke of Perth Wink

As long as we're complicating matters, let me offer another complication. I know J_B wants to go to Kingston Mines, but the cover charge there is $15, which might be a bit high for some of our out-of-towners. Let me, then, suggest as an alternative B.L.U.E.S., which is practically across the street from Kingston Mines and has (last time I checked) an $8 cover. It's a more intimate place (i.e. smaller), but I doubt it will be very crowded on a Monday night.

Ok, let's keep Cafe 28 at 6:30 and B.L.U.E.S afterwards is fine.

JW, maybe we can meet at the Mambo Grill for lunch the next time we get together.

Man, that was fun! The CowDocs are fabulous people. Dinner was great and the music afterwards was a real treat. It's always nice to meet new A2Kers, but these folks are a true joy.

....and we can't say enough about our hosts and our evening out! Thanks again for all your hospitality. A2Kers are indeed the best. Please accept our gratitude and tell everyone we didn't get to meet that we're sorry we missed them. Maybe next time?

I had a great time meeting CowDoc and the missus: you folks are welcome back to Chicago anytime.

I was going to say that Chicago has the best group of A2Kers anywhere.

But then I remembered visiting the clan in Albuquerque last year, and how "at home" they made us feel.

Hard to choose! Maybe I should visit the group in Boston, the group in NYC, the Aussie group, the group in Canada, and the group in the UK before I make a choice. (Better put them on notice now: the Chicago group set the bar awfully high.)

A2Kers are the BEST!

Just because at last year's meeting here we had had bad weather, Eva doesn't mention Germany ... ... sniff, sniff.

Albuquerque is different.
Those I've met are a like the Chicago crowd.

Ah! Backwards thingies! Thanks, Joe!

I am not fickle, wandeljw. I love all of you, that's all.

Sorry, Walter. I wouldn't want to leave Germany out. I just didn't think that you and Thomas were enough to make a "group." I do wish I'd been there last year. Dys and Diane said such nice things about you.
