Puffy Eyes

After a good cry, I get puffy eyes. Red, puffy, you look stoned, eyes. If I cry at night, they are there in the morning. How can I make them go away fast?

Yes Bella, gustav is right: quit crying, but if you must:

Put some cold cucumber slices on your eyes,
or cooling eye gel (from the refrigerator) cold tea bags
will help too, and drink plenty of water.

Try to sleep more elevated on 2 pillows during the
night, that will help also.

A cold compress. You can use chilled tea bags.

Although I think Gus has the better advice.

Before you go to bed, grab two ice cubes from the freezer.

Put the box of tissues close by.

Apply one ice cube to each eye and massage gently to a count of 100.

This will not work if you start the argument all over again.

Soak a clean washcloth in warm water and apply to both eyes.

Repeat.

If you are calm, head for bed.

If you are not calm repeat ice and heat cycle.

Now, why are you crying?

Visine is good for red eyes. I always have it with me. Sometimes I work until very late, and my eyes get very red. It's good for crying red eyes too.

Visine is very bad for your eyes. It weakens the blood vessels and that can lead to permanent damage. Ask your eye doctor for more details.

I can't use it anyway cuz I wear contacts. I know they make the "For Conatact" stuff now but I'm set in my ways.

I did not know that. I have used it for some time now, and I have no problems with my sight. I use it when my eyes get too tired from too much work on the computer at night. It cools my eyes and takes the red out. Last time my doctor said my eyes were fine.

It is possible that visine might not work for some people. Look at penicillin, it saves some people and kills others. I guess everyone has to be careful even with over the counter medicines.

according to bobby brown, if you use preparation H on the bags under your eyes, they go down pretty quick...haven't ever tried it, but it seemed to work well for him on their little reality show (which i swear i only caught that one part Smile ).

Bella, Just wear a pair of large, dark sunglasses. With your looks, you could get away with doing a very good Audrey Hepburn impersonation, if you ask me.

Then go shopping at Tiffany's........

Yup, the prep. H is a lifesaver when you absolutely must look good.
I wouldn't use it often though, and you have to be very careful not to get any in your eyes.
It is also great for tightening up any little spot of skin that is looking kinda saggy.

You can also get some great eye gels and creams. I have one right now from Yves Rocher that is very gentle but effective. Too bad so many of the products cost a lot and are crap; but when you find the right one it's great.

Take care bella
