What did he do that got him banned?

Not sure actually, been away myself for awhile. Just heard that he had been.
I don't know if Frank got banned from here, although if you Google his name, you will find him banned on another forum (at least one).
He last posted anywhere on a2k on Nov 23, so far as I know.
I, for one would like him back; I have no trouble with his occasional cantankerous outbursts.
Frank and I are old friends, back to Abuzz beginnings.
I've had some disagreements with Frank early on about agnostics and atheists, but consider him a friend. Heck, I have disagreements with my siblings; doesn't mean I don't love em.
Dunno, but I wager Frank's recent scarceness prolly has more to do with
THIS than with much of anything else.
You think he didn't take your advice, timber?
Or that he did?
Actually, you did have a good point about spyware, etc. The best way to get your 'puter memory deficient is by going to the 'popular' sites. Don't need to mention 'em, do I?
I sure hope he comes back. I'll loan him my laptop, if he'll come over.
From what I understand, he's been fairly busy, and has been leaning toward the new machine route. Last I heard from him was a couple weeks ago, via (unrelated) email. Don't see much point bothering him; figure he'll get back here when its convenient for him to do so.
Not only was the bible written by different authors, but most of them have been revised and re-revised until the original message has been completely lost. How can bible-thumbers continue to insist it's the word of god?

Timber,
I figured you whacked him because he is a fellow loudmouth of mine! Frank is priceless! I can't imagine him backing down from an argument. Very unFrank!! I haven't read the thread, did you guys get to him??

Frank wrote me an email a few weeks ago, and he is otherwise fine - just not as active on a2k.

CI,
A silent Frank ... the concept boggles the imagination!!

The answer to that, of course, is this:
IF the bible is the word of God, then it would receive the same protection from error in transcription as it would in original composition. Almost any translation of the bible can be used to discover the truth, or not. Frank has many and still can't figure it out.
Ha ha, the point is was a god or just the desert heat playing on the imagination like an image or mirage of an oasis in mid-day desert? e.g. "CldaGdhvprvddhsmssgnschfltymnnr?" = Could a God have provided his message in such a faulty manner? A Hebrew language without vowels and no word spaces. If your son went to a forest with instructions written by you would you have in a form prone to ambiguity and uncertainty? Questions would be raised about your fatherhood.

There seems to be consensus vis a vis the veracity of the Hebrew canon.
Additionally, (and I know I will be called on this) the texts as transcribed make sense.
Veracity? It just means it was copied religiously with spurious edits from time to time. It makes sense to a pre-scientific crowd. It addresses some social issues but that is about it. It is of no value as a document of reality or physical truth meaning relevance to the physical sciences.
It was not written as a scientific treatise.
That coming from an omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent God? What a copout. Yet when scientific issues are raised the standards are set so high for efforts by mere mortals. So there is no inerrancy in the Bible that it IS written by fallible MEN
Glad to hear Frank is doing okay. He speaks his mind, but from my experience with him on this forum he is a good guy.
Quote, "That coming from an omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent God?"
Many people get offended, but the bible is the product of men - not god. God would not have made so many errors and omissions about a) the age of this planet, b) how creation was a six day, 24 hour event, c) so many contradictions from one verse to another, and d) teaches gender and homophobic bigotry/discrimination and approves slavery. With its content of miracles, I call it a comic book, because only comic books go beyond human abilities.
