Thrill Rides – Are they good for your health?

Just returned from vacation and even with two little ones, I did get the opportunity to ride on one pretty good thrill ride. I screamed my bloody head off and it felt great! Since I felt so good when I got off, I wondered, could thrill rides actually be good for you? It seemed to me a great release of stress and a wonderful feeling of surviving (at least mentally) something life threatening. Anyone ever hear of just rides actually being therapeutic? Anyone else every feel the way I did?

I have never rode one.. me be chicken... Laughing
but i can see how they would be helpful for stress and the like.
Basically for the reasons you are experiencing.
My question would be..
what is the long term effects of going at that speed onthe brain?
Our circulatory system requires a certian "PSI" to sustain itself.
changing that so drastically again and again cant be good for ya?
I am not talking about the occasional ride..
Im thinking once a day.. long term...?

You had to ruin my fun didn't ya?!

I did read something once about how repeated rides on rollercoasters and other such rides that cause you to jolt severely could cause damage to the brain. Fortunately (or unfortunately) I don't have the time or money to ride that frequently.

i dont know many people who have time or money to ride rollercoasters ENOUGH to cause problems..

but then again.. someone had to at some time or another because there are warnings against it now

I rode to lunch last week with my boss driving. I haven't felt so close to my maker in ages, so I guess it's a good thing.

I went to the fair here two weekends in a row.

Loved the screaming, and I recovered from the whiplash fairly quickly for one of my advanced years Confused

I love that adrenaline rush.

Oh puhleeze- I have been known to get vertigo on kiddie rides. I used to love roller coasters as a young person...........................but my semi-circular canals can no longer deal with the thrills. Laughing

Well, I know bungee-jumping is definitely bad for your brain.

I suspect most others are fine - unless you fall off and kill or mangle yourself.

Humans need thrills.

And possibly frills, though I eschew them myself...
