The Queen DEAD ;-; ! What will happen to England ?

Charles is flying out to Northern Ireland.

The Republicans will want to appear sombre, but still want a divorce while the Unionists will act as if the death of Queen Elizabeth hasn't damaged the union at all.

The biggest damage to the union is Brexit.

I do have a question, in all honesty, I don't understand why Prince Andrew who was involved in a deplorable sexual scandal gets to wear his uniform on one occasion in order to show his respect and Harry who served in Afghanistan and is involved in wounded veterans charity is not allowed to show his respect at least once too. I mean, I understand he gave up things like that when he gave up his role as a working royal. However, Andrew was made to give up his role due to his own behavior. I wonder who made that decision? Can't they see how it looks?

What part of the institution of the Royal Family being hyper-hypocritical, wrongly-focused don't you get?

Harry served in Afghanistan.

Andrew served in the Falklands.

I think their military record is about even.

What it seems to hinge on is Harry's decision to leave royal duties, Andrew was caught out.

The Queen was v protective of Andrew, he gave her corgis, is going to be looking after her corgis and the BBC have just shown a picture of a 3-4 yr old Andrew trying to get a reluctant corgi off the train.

It stinks, but it looks like that's what the Queen wanted.

Generally, only working royals – which Harry and Andrew are not – are being permitted to dress in uniform at five ceremonial occasions.

At the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral in April 2021, the dress issue was dealt with by the Queen who decided that no members of the royal family should wear uniform.

This time, an exception has been made for Andrew who will wear a uniform as a “special mark of respect” for his mother.

I guess (some) outsiders don't get it. I imagine it would be heartbreaking to end the monarchy. Also, for the most part from what I have been reading these last few days (been a lot of articles) the monarchy really does not rule ya'lls country so much as it stands for identity and continuity and serves as head of state and head of military and the church. In other words, most of the rules or laws which would affect ya'lls everyday life are run by elected officials. Right?

What do you make of exemption of royals not having to pay any inheritance tax? I guess, all this publicity is not really good for the monarchy, but it will pass.

And a 22 year old man has been arrested and charged with a breach of the peace for heckling Prince Andrew as he walked behind the coffin in Edinburgh.
