Thanks Ticomaya, and I always enjoy reading your posts, keep up the good work.

I know this forum can be discouraging in terms some of the opinions posted here, but it is at least cheap entertainment compared to a few other things.

LOL I guess it is discouraging to see one's arguments destroyed on such a consistent basis. Cheap entertainment indeed and you, McG, Tico and MM do a great job of keeping us entertained.

Who are you, Advocate, to describe these posters as "losers"? Not under applicable - and applied, as in "jurisprudence", in this case - law they're not.

Indeed, Roxanne! You of course should know what constitutes "cheap entertainment", in view of your extensive descriptions of the expensive kind you provided in the past.

Heck, there are some of us who aren't afraid to speak our minds, and that includes calling a spade a spade. Some people with thin skins should stay out of the kitchen.

Advocate, What I can't seem to understand is why conservatives continue to support Bush when we know he's dangerous to our country's security and well-being.

one possibility;

to some, anyone who dislikes bush and his band of merry men are "the enemy". "the enemy of my enemy is my friend".

in the black and white world of the extremist, to disagree with a leader you supported isn't just a disillusionment, it's joining the enemy.

and to me, that's pretty stupid. bush's dead enders are gonna be saddled with the same effed up mess to clean up as the rest of us.

most anyway. like the "plain folks" in "plain america" .

the ones that are making a pile of cash will just settle back and wait for their next big score.

how patriotic of them.

And turning tail from a war you voted for is heroic, courageous, trustworthy, and patriotic I suppose, DTOM?

okie, We did not vote for this war; Bush chased out the UN weapon's inspectors, and started this illegal war without UN approval.

What the congress approved was not what Bush did to start his Iraq war. You probably didn't notice, but Bush started this war based on Saddam's WMDs; why are we still there, because Saddam didn't have any?

The Dems didn't really vote for the war. First, Bush misled congress regarding the alleged threat. Second, congress gave Bush authority to invade PROVIDED this was necessary. Even the administration admits that it was unnecessary.

Okie, I apologize for saying that you are a loser. I don't apologize to Taco, who, when I first joined a2k, went after me personally and unfairly.

see? "black and white".

wmd? - none to find

regime change ? - check. saddam dead. udai and kusay dead. saddam's little dog too.

establish a democratic government ? - done.

elections ? done

so the military has done it's job. to the point of exaustion. to the point of job loss and fractured families. to the point of permanent injury. to the point of death.

that mission is accomplished.

our people are bustin' their asses, getting hurt, getting killed and the united states is being spent into a big black hole.

all for the good of the iraqis. who can't get along with each other long enough to sustain a viab;e government.

the sunni bloc, making up 44+% of the parliment took a hike. the remaining five sunnis in the government bailed out of the cabinet yesterday.

the hard working iraqis aren't going to let that stop them from taking a month off, are they ?

last night it was reported that something like 30% of the military gear we've paid for and given to the iraqi army has gone missing. included is +/- 190,000 ak47s.

good. 'cause those iraqi soldiers that have been being trained, for 3+ years, are in need of them when they come back off duty to employ said training in attacking americans.

wouldn't want 'em to have to resort to throwing camel poop.

ya gettin' the drift here ?

add to that the reality that bush's bunch have been wrong on just about everything about iraq and you have to wonder wtf is goin' on here ?

some **** just can't be fixed, okie.

sometimes you have to suck it up, admit a mistake, cut your losses and perhaps take another look at it later.

that's not cowardice, that's being realistic and even acting as a good steward of your country's resources.

---

but ya know what i find interesting? you assumed that i was only talking about the war in iraq.

DTOM, They're too far gone to "get the drift." It doesn't matter that we're responsible for killing tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis to bring democracy to their country. Many are starving, can't get medical care, and most don't have electricity. So much progress in just five years.

The majority of Democrats didn't vote for this war, Okie.

And many of us have been against it from day -75.... and we've been right in our predictions of the outcome. I'd like to hear you admit this fact.

You deserve your opinion if you were against it from day -75, cyclops. Just in case you haven't heard, your frontrunner, Hillary, voted for it, and in case you haven't also heard, she talked to all of the experts, to include those people not influenced by Bush and those people that were informed on the subject of Iraq and WMD and all the other factors, and she voted for the war. Why do these simple facts of history seem to be conveniently forgotten?

Now, the primary reason for your opposition to Bush is totally forgotten when you plan to vote for Hillary in 08. She not only voted for the war, but now unlike Bush, has turned tail and hides in cowardice from her past statements and runs for the tall grass. Pathetic, people, pathetic, and you know it. All of you need to look in the mirror.

P. S. If we happen to win this war, how will you feel about it then? You can guess what Hillary will be saying. She will be taking full credit for winning. It was all because of her. Your guys are so transparently phony, it is pathetic.

Though it has been pointed out ad nauseum that the vote was not to go to war or not but merely to give Bush the authority to go in as a last resort, Okie continues to misrepresent the truth. I can only assume at this point that the deception is intentional.

I happened to follow the news at the time. We were obviously headed toward a confrontation with Hussein after years of him evading and the world and the U.N. handwringing. Yes years. The war was the next step and everyone should have known it, citizens knew it, many of us talked about it and debated it right at the very time that the votes were being taken in Congress. Funny you guys do not remember it. Were you on the planet then?

You guys are so transparent. If you don't like history, simply revise it. You did it with WMD, Bush lied, and now with the vote by Congress, here we go again. You guys dance faster than Cassius Clay, later known as Mohammed Ali.

Question, if we win this war, will Hillary say she never wanted to go to war even though she voted for it, she only voted for it as a last resort, and there was no last resort? Swear to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

News to me. Why don't you direct me to any post where you think I went after you personally and unfairly? I pointed out your hyperbole on more than one occasion. Is that why your panties are in a bunch?
