Aerosmith by himself to give an idea of what they look like. No clue if they look more like beagle or brittany spaniel. Any ideas? They sure seem to have long legs. That's a 6" square he's on.

Is there anything cuter than a puppy? How's Gracie doing?

Gus' dad said he has some people interested. We will likely keep one.

Put a call in to vet / Gus' Dad, cause Gracie won't leave box to go potty, eat or drink. Drank a little water when I offered it to her twice, but no food. Going on 24 hours since she last ate. Seems she should be terribly hungry, not to mention that she should have gone potty at some point today.

Puppies have stayed latched on most of the day. Seem to be doing well. Hope she doesn't stop producing milk due to lack of nutrition.

I'm feeling very benign about all this but then I am a total fool re veterinary stuff.
Ok, not total, but not smart like some. (where oh where is McBeans - well, I know, but we need her here, dadgummit.)

I like the link with the vet, just to have the link with the vet, and I agreed though didn't post same with all those who worrywarted, that a channel to vet is a smart thing, and if not immediately acted on, at least sets up a starting point structure.

Didn't we read something similar about the bear recently? ;-)

Gracie has every right to be a doting mama and as for the maternal grandparents of the litter....and the aunt and uncles.....

Congratulations all around.

They do have long legs. Does the box have high sides yet?

I have a birth picture of my Springer Spaniel that looks a lot like Gracie's pup. But it seems to me that most newborns have short coats and little round heads, so what does it all mean?

I can't find the breeder's book on Vizla's around here, don't know where I put it, but you can run over to any Crown bookstore and pick a book on Brittanies or Beagles. It will give you some advice on what to expect and some tips on keeping the pups close to mom before they are housebroken. I can't remember the name of the "nest", but you can confine the pups and still allow Gracie to get out for a break from the puppies.

Now, leave the damn dog alone so she can start a routine with the pups. You dont want the pups imprinting on you.

Is she eating yet? We usually give our sheep some Vit B shots to perk up their appetite . Roll her little nips in your warm wet hands to se if any milk is letting go. Then leave her and the pups alone. She doesnt need you.

Can they fetch yet?
