cubs are napping because they have work at noon. squinney is holding out fine. As previously mentioned, she's a rock. I pussed out after pup #2 and went back to bed, so I'm fine. I have a photo session for new promo pictures this afternoon and needed to not be all baggy eyed.

Bear & Squinney
I'm joining paranoids anonymous tomorrow.

I'm glad you only have five pups, makes it easier on you and the mother.

Your description of the long process reminded me of the several birthings of dogs and cats when my children were young. Great experience for them.

Two of them are aggressive, wrestling each other every second for nipple position. It's pretty cute. The other three are just latched on and chillin'.

Long nights watching birth(s) is such a miraculous event and I am so happy that the cubs stayed up with you to give you a helping hand. I would have been mesmerized by the whole event

I'm in awe of your intuitive wisdom. I have a cauldron of crow simmering in the kitchen and will serve myself a brimming bowl full as soon as its thoroughly cooked.

could you freeze some for me? there's usually not a day that goes by where I don't need to eat some for one reason or another, and I'm sure you probably cook better than I do.

I guess we all have our blonde moments.... it's become a bit of a family joke actually, it happened years ago. On the whole, she's much brighter than I am, and I'm no slouch.

The context was that Bear said something about beaches in Ireland. I asked if Ireland had beaches. He looked at me, and after a moments silence he said "Irelands an island, Honey."

I meant beaches as in sand and surf, cause I had always seen rocky cliffs, not sandy beaches. Then he pointed out that the ships have to dock somewhere. They don't just pull up to a cliff and climb a rope.

Okay, there may be a few blond hairs mixed in somewhere.

Now, where's that USB cable?

The secret to cooking crow is to remove the feathers, first.

The tail feathers can then be used for writing apologies. The downy fluff can be stuffed in a pillow for rueful sleep.

Actually, what pass for beaches in Ireland are generally referred to in the English speaking world outside the United States as "shingle." If you think of the American sense of that word, and then think slate roof, you've got a pretty good idea of an Irish "beach."

Not quite so, the west of Ireland, particularly around Galway has some fabulous sandy beaches. I know because 30 odd years ago I woke up on one, hung over and with no idea how I got to that side of the island (it was my 21st birthday).

I was in Galway, and never saw any, which is certainly not conclusive. Maybe around Salt Hill just west of Galway Town, where the coastline is straight an regular (about the only part that is)?

It was west of Galway at a wide spot in the road the name of which I cannot remember, if I ever knew.

I think we've hijacked Squinny's thread.
