maybe this is exactly the time to focus on these domestic goals. Doing what’s right for our people strengthens our moral authority to defend democracy and human rights abroad. Protecting voting rights lends credibility to our claims of the superiority of democracy to autocracy. Providing more economic security shows the world that our system is fair and just. Fixing our healthcare system enables more Americans to live fuller and more productive lives. Surely we can afford to do far more than we are now doing. Containing Putin while also attending to our domestic priorities fortifies opponents of tyranny in Russia and elsewhere who know they don’t have the luxury of supporting a vast military while also attending to domestic needs.

Clinton signed the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996, which authorized further barriers and the reinforcement of the initial border fence. The majority of the border barriers built in the 1990s were made out of leftover helicopter landing mats from the Vietnam War.[16]

Over the past few years they get gung ho and get a couple of miles added, then give up. But the conservative voters eat up these promises. Personally, we don't need no steenking walls.

Today, Putin placed his nuclear arsenal on alert. America is no doubt on DEFCON 4. Why you ask would Putin go to nukes? I posit that he has awakened to the realization that he may have bitten off more than he can chew. Consider, he has not accomplished the blitzkrieg he expected, he has been slammed with economically stifling sanctions he didn't believe would be imposed, hundreds of thousands of Russians have taken to the street protesting this invasion. With his cadre of oligarchs taking a beating on their stock market (they lost 39 billion in wealth on Friday), the 600 billion in reserves of his government virtually frozen, and the likelihood that Europe and the world will seek other places to purchase what they need even if he withdraws, Putin is trying to intimidate the free world into letting have his way. To say he has underestimated the resolve of the Ukrainian people and the world is to understate his folly.
Hard to believe Putin actually intends a nuclear war, but placing such weapons at the disposal of so many countries probably makes it inevitable a nut will go for it one day. - edgarblythe

Because I see a lot of people around the world basically “wanting to speak to my supervisor” because they don’t like something I said about:
Russia
Israel
America
Ukraine
Police
Palestine
War
White Supremacy
Or (fill in the blank).
But here’s the thing:
1. I don’t have a boss.
2. I don’t have a supervisor.
3. Haven’t for years.
And here’s the wild thing. For better or worse, you helped make me this way.
I realized 4 years ago that I would HAVE to be completely independent if I was going to say and do hard things about the biggest problems in our world.
And I’ve been completely independent for four years.
You can’t cancel me.
You can’t censor me.
You can’t choose my friends.
And you’ve already backed me into a corner where my family and I’ve paid an enormous price for me being who I am and doing what I do.
So listen.
I won’t ignore open bigotry and white supremacy in Ukraine because they are the “good guys” today.
I also won’t stop speaking out against the unjust war that Russia is waging.
I won’t stop speaking out against the Apartheid in Palestine because of the double standard of how it’s covered versus how other white based conflicts are covered.
And here’s what I know.
99% of the people that were going to bail out on me already bailed a long time ago.
And the the millions of people that are left aren’t leaving. You all have made that very clear to me.
I’m confident in who I am and what I say and do.
And here’s the thing, I WILL NEVER BAIL.
Never.
