I'm a bit suspicious about the timing of allegations that some UNRWA workers were involved in the Hamas atrocities.

If it is the case, and not just mudslinging, Israel must have known about it for some time.

As it is, it looks like an attempt to divert attention away from, and discredit the ICJ ruling and the UN in general.

Israel has already called the ICJ antisemitic.

As it is major doners, US, UK, Australia, Italy and others have all suspended payment.

The UN says it has launched an investigation and those alleged individuals have been suspended .

In the meantime more Palestinians are going without esential aid.

Switzerland has said it will wait until the situation is clarified before it acts, which I think is fair, because I don't know what else the UN could be doing right now.

I have strong doubts, too. It just reeks of deflection.
