@Lash,
Lobbying, as done by AIPAC and many other groups, is distasteful but legal. Let us know when people start going to jail for saying "free Palestine". I'll read what else you have to say on the other thread.

@hightor,
The word lobbying no longer exists.
In the American Congress, it is now purchasing.

I'll call Merriam-Webster. I'm confident they'll make the change.
Unless they've been lobbied / purchased.

@Lash,
You don't think that those politicians, like many other US citizens, might actually support Israel? If large financial contributions are so effective, why doesn't AIPAC just buy the votes of those who vote against our open-ended support? Back in the old days, the non-aligned nations could always count on getting foreign aid from either of the two rival superpowers by hinting they might support one side against the other.

@hightor,
Who elected officials 'like' is immaterial.

They don't get to accept huge sums of money from foreign governments to enact the desires of those foreign governments over the needs of their own constituents.

We've got a word for that.

@Lash,
I know what that word is!

It starts with P, doesn't it?

@Lash,
Lobbying is out in the open.

Trump solicited payments from foreign governments for favours.

We only know a fraction of what his business organisation received because the Republican controlled Congress told Trump's lawyers to ignore the subpoena.

@Glennn,
And now you're speaking for everybody.

That's quite a jump for someone who only just complained of others speaking on behalf of one person.

@izzythepush,
I won't ask how you got that I'm speaking for everyone when I claim to know what a political prostitute is. You make odd statements.

@Glennn,
I guess language doesn't mean the same to you as it does most people.

This is the post I was responding to.

@Region Philbis,
I think Trump would be unwise to stiff Habba here. She hasn't gilded her reputation and I can't imagine big firms will want her on board nor many/any deep pocket clients will come knocking. And given the apparent level of her ethics/morals, she could end up a damaging loose cannon. Further, given Trump's total amorality, he could easily enough bully others who support him to come up with the money for her legal fees (or a significant portion of that). Better for Trump to keep her happy. That way she won't go rogue and he can continue ogling her tits.

The panel of Republican candidates for CO-04, including Lauren Boebert, are asked who has been arrested and SIX of them raise their hands. They then high-five each other while the audience cheers. This is the MAGA GOP.
