@chai2,
Thank you.

Things have been realigned in the potassium and other electrolytes. Now getting the physical condition back on track.

Apparently, black beans will be getting more appearances on my dinner plates. Since I like them, this is good. Can experiment with a few recipes to incorporate them and give me variety.

@Sturgis,
There's a vegetarian place I love that makes excellent black beans

They add just a bit of cinnamon to it. It really brings out the flavor.

Actually, it's a mixutre of black and red beans.

It's called The Slacker. You get it over brown rice. I have them add grilled onions and diced tomatoes on top, and cornbread.

It's the cheapest thing on their menu, at $6.50 and it's enough for 2 meals.

Another favoriete of mine is the Ruby Reuben. It's made with beets with a kale & cabbage kraut one the side. Swiss cheese melted on it and some amazing dressing. Made on grilled sourdough rye

Slurp

Hooray I'm back home...

No more trains rumbling by
No more twice a week nasal swabbings
No more of the other irritations

The quiet of home is, as always, an adjustment. (although not being an unwitting donor to a blood drive is relief -)

@chai2,
37 "joyous" days.

I'll miss my daily serving of 2 chocolate chip cookies (individually wrapped)

@Sturgis,
Good to hear that you're home again and presumably feeling better.

Sorry about the cookies though.

@Sturgis,
I hope you do ok. I was feeling sorry for myself until I saw your post. Had a mini stroke on the 11th. They held me until the night of the 14th. They wanted me to take physical thepary but my insurance co said no. So the Dr's told me how to get around them. I'm doing fine. My kids even let me drive after a test drive. Hope you recover quickly.

Has anyone heard from Sturgis? He hasn't been online since the 31st of January and He doesn't answer his email. I'm getting very concerned.
