What does the phrase "Pence fails the Voight-Kampff test" here actually mean? The test used by LAPD to detect a duplicant is so specific and now the phrase seems to suggest and duplicated Pence.

Can we fast forward to the scene where Pence fails the Voight-Kampff test?

Croaker Mcsquirt replies:
Pence is a freshly waxed and polished machine; so far, that is... while Kamala comes off a bit like a smug teenager chomping at the bit.

The Voight-Kampff test is a fictional test used in the classic science fiction move Blade Runner.

Coincidentally, I watched the White Dragon fan-edit of Blade Runner tonight instead of watching the debate.

In the movie, the Voight-Kampff test is used to tell the difference between a "human-like robot" and a "true human".

Passing the test means that you are a human. Failing means that your responses to the questions were not properly human (and thus you are identified as a simulated human).

@oralloy,
Thanks.
If "Pence fails the Voight-Kampff test", then whose replicant is Pence in Sam Harris' idea?

@oristarA,
The replicants were not duplicates of specific people. They just were human-like in their appearance.

If Pence fails the test, that just means he is an automaton that is simulating humanity. It doesn't mean that he is duplicating someone.
